I'm having morality issues with the whole adult industry. Because I believe my morals have changed since I started a few months ago. It's not like I don't like money, but it seems like porn consumes you...

For those of you who got into the business along time ago... Do you think it has changed you at all?

And for those of you Starting out... Are you worried you'll get changed by the business?

Hey man...Im with ya.

I had a personal delemma earlier this month too. I was having a hard time pushing the
hardcore stuff on my sites. I was feeling bad about how I was representing women. Although there is a side of me that likes hard porn...Im not sure if it was healthy to be spending 10hrs a day looking at people fuck.
Im not sure if it's moral or not to be confirming the ideals of perverts who feel that women love to be fucked in the ass and cummed on.

My personal solution was to change my sites. I decided to push less hardcore and more softcore and amateurs. At first my money and traffic droped....but fortunatly after a couple of weeks...things came back up again.

I also feel a lot better about what Im doing for a living.

Whether your sites are hardcore or softcore...
Do some deep thinking. You will find your own personal solution.

Porn has changed me. Now I stay up all night and sleep as late as I want. If I want to go out, or play tennis wednesday afternoon, I'm free to. I'm hoping to buy a house in a couple of months and spend my life exactly as I want to, rather than being a slave to a corporation that will earn from my labor but never notice I exist.

I used to look forward to the weekends and was getting dangerously close to being like the average American and spending my life looking forward to the end of it - retirement. Now I enjoy every day. I love my work, I'm proud of my sites.

I don't think porn is wrong, I don't think it's degrading or harms anyone. I don't use the word bitch or whore or slut on any of my sites because I don't like those words. See, the things I have a moral issue with I don't do.

I know I'm being long-winded, but I had to set up my own feelings before discussing yours. What morals do you feel are being comprimised? My experience is that what we do actually makes us LESS interested in porn rather than being consumed.

The thing is Adsproul, it's all about you. If you feel that what you're doing is wrong that's a serious issue. I mean no one should have to be ashamed of what they do, and if you're feeling an inner conflict about what you do your going to have to either change what you do, or change how you feel about it.

Well, I don't know what to think, on the one hand I remember myself about 2 years When i was at my best. I looked healthy, I felt healthy. I was active all year round, in the winter I boarded and worked out in the gym. in the summer I climbed, and Hiked, and backpacked... I spent time outside of my house, I was barely home, and if I was I was sleeping.

One year ago much of the same, except I didn't work, but I went to school full-time. Same situation, just no work.

Up till about6 months ago I was against pushing any type of pornography, and looked at it as a "dirty" business... I still do... I didn't want anything to do with it. Then I moved in with my good friend, who has been in the business for a few years now, and I was constantly bombarded with the good qualities of the "porn" or "adult" industry. So I bought my first domain..

Made my first 35 bux, and thought "Fuck, this is easy" and then started the buying of domains, and trying to build an empire...

Now I admit I am not some porn king. I don't make a whole lot and now I am wondering if this is the right time to stop. If I should stop before I get too deep into it...

So I asked this question to get a general survey of the people on this board, most if not all have some affiliation with the "adult" industry...

Has porn changed you and your morals? and if it has, money issue aside, would you back out of it?

And I want to stress that the money issue has to be left out of this. I want to know what your true thoughts are, without money involved...

I used to worry about getting laid off..fired
being late..wondering if I would get the weekend off..
raises..etc etc
didnt have much time for my kids...
Now I do..
I dont have to worry about any of that..
I make 4 times what I did working as a refinery operator with benefits included..
and I dont have to leave the fucking house..

I don't think porn has changed me considerably, but it sure has affected my overall life for sure. For example, I'll go to Denny's and see some fat or 50+ women and think 'they would make a great niche model'

Also, now that I have seen about 3,000,000 pairs of implants all the regular women I come across seem to be lacking.

Anyhow, if you have issues with doing porn I would suggest trying out some mainstream sponsors. I'm have faith they will be just as profitable as porn one day. Not that you can't make a profit in the mainstream industry but it is considerably harder. I myself am trying to wean myself from being reliant on my porn income - just in case

Warphead, Humbolt< Wizard, Your on the right track. Its the same here, Iam a master electrician by background and ran a fairly successful electrical contracting company for 13 years. We had 8 electricians working for us and made some very good money. But even as the boss I had to live a life by a schedule that was set up by society, meetings, jobs, estimates, payroll, phone calls etc...
Now Like Humbolt said, I wake up when I want, do what I want when I want.. Actually see my kids .. and Make love to Mrs Lightning All the time... The money is out there for all of us, you just need to find the best way for you, that works best.

Shit Adsproul, I can't say that I'd every agree with you, but what has to be important to you is what YOU think.

I mean read about the Netherlands, up until the late 60's porn was a no-no, then they decided that was silly and legalized ALL forms of porn except CP. Everyone knows that the ole NL is where to get the animal stuff or any weird stuff you want. What not everyone knows is they have one of the lowest incidences of sex crimes in the world. Compared to us puritans in the US they have almost no rape.

The reason I mention this is I'm hoping to make you change your mind rather than have to get a normal job ( and ruin your life)

Lotsa guys I knew, in the business I was in, before did stuff like this;

Made numbered companies to protect their assets

Screwed the contractors for the last possible penny on the contracts, then when it came to the final draw, they either skipped town, went bankrupt, came up with an impossible deficiency list, or just simply did not pay.

I know one builder, who bragged about this BTW, who owed a contractor 5 million bucks, did not pay, so the contractor sued the builder for the amout owing.
The builder countersued, saying that the work was deficient for $5 million (which it was not) knowing full well that each party in this case would have to pay the $5 million to the court prior to proceedings.

The builder had $5 million, the contractor could not come up with it, so the contractor had to drop his case, went bankrupt, couldn't pay his workers.

There are lots of shafters like this in business,
so to tell you the truth, this (peddling porn) is a lot more honest, than a lot of other work

adsproul - I know where ya comin from but at the same time, I feel closer to Warheads feeling/beliefs at the "present" time.

I know a few friends who are "good" God fearing, law abiding church attending types who feel that I'm thrusting my soul deeper towards hell's welcome gate with each and every page I make. I have a few "bad" drug usin', foul mouth'd, fornicating types who are completely facinated with what I'm doing.

So I feel like I'm in the middle somehow. I get tabs from both sides on a regular basis so I kinda stay in the middle.

Well, herein lies the problems i am having... Some of us hide behind this wall of internet commerce.. when queried by the opposite sex as to what our jobs are, some of us say "the internet, or marketing"... I hate lying.. But if i were to tell someone what i do, immediately they get a bad taste in their mouths... I don't want to have to fabricate a lie to tell them just so they don't shut me off... then to bring it up later, just adding to the whole mistrust issue, or creating it... And not that there is anything wrong with them, but the girls who think it's cool, just don't appeal to me... I'm not in this business to hook up with models, or become a porn king.. I'm just doing it to make a quick and easy buck, but it seems like the more i make, the harder, and the deeper i get into this business. My morals are slowly adopting themselves to the people i am surrounded by. I'm becoming increasingly immoral and it worries me...

I know one builder, who bragged about this BTW, who owed a contractor 5 million bucks, did not pay, so the contractor sued the builder for the amout owing. The builder countersued, saying that the work was deficient for $5 million (which it was not) knowing full well that each party in this case would have to pay the $5 million to the court prior to proceedings. The builder had $5 million, the contractor could not come up with it, so the contractor had to drop his case, went bankrupt, couldn't pay his workers. I know a few friends who are "good" God fearing, law abiding church attending types who feel that I'm thrusting my soul deeper towards hell's welcome gate with each and every page I make. I have a few "bad" drug usin', foul mouth'd, fornicating types who are completely facinated with what I'm doing. So I feel like I'm in the middle somehow. I get tabs from both sides on a regular basis so I kinda stay in the middle. One question for ya...when your future child (i'm assuming at 20, you don't yet have kids) is old enough to know what you do for a living, what will ya tell 'em? A white lie?

Some of us hide behind this wall of internet commerce.. when queried by the opposite sex as to what our jobs are, some of us say "the internet, or marketing"... I hate lying.. But if i were to tell someone what i do, immediately they get a bad taste in their mouths... I don't want to have to fabricate a lie to tell them just so they don't shut me off... then to bring it up later, just adding to the whole mistrust issue, or creating it... And not that there is anything wrong with them, but the girls who think it's cool, just don't appeal to me... I'm not in this business to hook up with models, or become a porn king.. I'm just doing it to make a quick and easy buck, but it seems like the more i make, the harder, and the deeper i get into this business. My morals are slowly adopting themselves to the people i am surrounded by. I'm becoming increasingly immoral and it worries me... And if pushed for more just say its hard to explain in a short time. After all, a new aquaintance shouldn't expect your undie size in a short time. lol If they really insist more you might want to consider what their motivation could be. Let them get to know you (say 6 months NOT a week) before you allow them that undie size info and if they run off screaming after that... Oh well!

He runs a place that sells a liquid that is a direct cause of highway fatalities, domestice abuse, rape and liver disease - but no one expects him to feel guilty. He's selling something that is definately not good for anyone, but ADULTS enjoy. We're selling something that has no direct ill-effects and ADULTS enjoy. I actually like that some people don't approve of what I do, it lets me see how small their minds are before I waste much time with them.
