Do YOU drink TOO MUCH alcohol? How is your liver? I personally drink 2 or 3 times a week, never by myself, but always in social situations. Is that too much? Am I doing some serious damage to my liver, or can my body handle 2 or 3 times a week? How much do you drink?

if you are really concerned about this your doctor can do a liver function test. they draw blood and send it off to a lab to be tested.

Well a couple weeks ago on Oprah some lady said if you black out 1 time you probably have a problem

as for physically i'm not real sure, but if your getting waisted 2-3 times/week i'm sure your liver cant hang with it til over 70 or so

My X is 29, has chirrosis of the liver. She gets trashed every weekend, all weeked. Her livers gonna shit out probably in a few more years. Dont think you're indestructable because you only drink on weekends.

As far as me, I am 26, I drink usually 3 times a week, but only 1 day of that is heavy drinking where I get drunk...The other 2 days, I just have a little bit of alcohol, like 3 or 4 beers

The "safe" limits (assuming you don't binge drink) are approx 28 units per week for men and 21 for women.

1 shot of spirits contains approx 1 unit of alcohol.
1 glass of wine contains approx 1 unit of alcohol.
1 pint of beer contains approx 2 units of alcohol, unless it's American beer, in which case drink as much as you want

I think that is extremely moderate and without any pre existing or genetic predispositon to a liver problem that you should be fine. I haven't had a drink since Internext in Florida last year.

If you drink a lot, I guess it depends on the person, if your health gets hurt or not.

I use 2 drink a lot and my body parts are fine.

If you find yourself thinking about drinking during the day or thinking, be glad when i get off work so i can have a beer, you might want 2 rethink your drinking habits.

The liver is one of the most hardy organs in your body. Did you know that if you chopped 2/3 of your liver off, it can rejuvinate itself and grow back? If you are drinking to the point of liver damage, and not eating enough detoxifying veggies, you are doing yourself a total disservice. You need your liver to function properly.
