HELP >>> Router gurus

Quote:
In order for the VPN client to work through a firewall, destination IP UDP port 2233 must be open outbound on the firewall. You may ask the firewall administrator to open destination IP UDP port 2233 on the firewall. This is the only way the Shiva VPN will work through the firewall.

How do i do this shit on the linksys router?

Hmm, my linksys router doesn't have a firewall. Infact I don't run one at all. Are you running one on your system? Maybe the default windows one?

Does the port also need to support incomming data? - If so you will need to use port forward which is listed under the advanced option in your webbased control panel

open it in the router's advanced feature. Refer to the manual and the help button on the router on how to open ports.

I should be realitively straight forward once you read the router manual...

Sorry had to say it.

Just about every Linksys router I have come across has a different firmware. On the older versions, you ened to goto advanced then forwarding. On some of the newer ones, they label it gaming/applications. It may be in advanced as well.

I would say the problem is in Norton also

But in the router config. you have a Security option. Click that and click VPN passthrough ........and you will see 3 options for VPN passthrough.

Click enable IPSec passthrough

Tuen off norton just in case and you should be golden
