Midnight Submitter Suggestions
After trying Midnight it seems great but still some bugs.
1. If you forget to select a category in the Job Creation then it give you an error and closes the window when you click ok. Not good. it should let you select what category you actually want 2. There is not option to list current jobs. For instance i created a bunch of jobs by the same name and then when i goto sumbit i have like 7 jobs by the same name all diffent.. how do i know which is what? I tried opening the database but it asks for a password =( 3. Let us choose how many thumbz are linked to pics. For instance the default is 5 but 18 N Sexy TGP has a limit of minimum 8 pics. (Unless i'm ok crack and the field in the Job Creation means thumbnails). Yeah, you guys should be more specific what that field means in the Job Creation. Pictures: does that mean the number of thumbz of the number of actual large size pics that are linked? Thx for a good job. [This message has been edited by m0rph3us (edited 08-12-2001).] |

One More thing....
I noticed that the TGPs are cross listed in the categories. So if I am submitting gallery A to all teen TGPs and gallery B to all hardcore TGPs, a TGP might have a rule to 1 submission a day or so and I might end up getting banned! You might wanna look into that. I also noticed that in the HTML folder that gets created some of the TGPs reply as remote submissions not allowed. |

OK, let me try to answer these one by one.

Second, why would you create jobs all using the same name? Every time you go to replicate pages or submit pages there is a list of jobs. If you named them all the same, that's not the fault of the software is it? I suggest you name each job something different and descriptive so you can keep them straight. There is a fair amount of room for naming the jobs, so you can be pretty clear as to which is which. Quote:
If you have other questions, let me know. If I can answer them I will, if not you'll have to wait for Midnight...he's been up for 3 days working on this thing and he's taking some much needed rest ![]() ------------------ The Webmaster's Folder |

ehm ok... i'm just saying about the Job creation, all software usually double checks for duplicates and so should Midnight Sumbitter. For instance I think there's a bug in mine (win2k pro) cuz the Jobs are only shown in the Submit part of the program not in the page replication. I have to create a new job everytime for the page replication

When I use it, I first create a job and add it using the add job button. Next, I open the replicate pages function and the job (or jobs) I previously created are listed there. I just check off the one I want to replicate pages for and it does it. When I go to submit, it again lists the jobs, so I select then one to submit (after having uploaded the pages of course) and push the submit button. All done.
Since you can select the sites to submit to when you create the job you have to follow the rules regarding multiple submissions yourself. Most of them are still allowing more than one submission per webmaster per day, so you shouldn't get banned for that. However, I don't suggest you spam the TGP's with multiple galleries daily. Two a day should be plenty. Personally, I won't list more than two galleries per webmaster (not domain) per day, so that should be a good rule of thumb to follow for now. Try to be fair to everyone else that is submitting and you'll all get a chance to get galleries up. ------------------ The Webmaster's Folder |

God love ya LudeDude!
Some just install the program, read the instructions and wham their cooking out galleries within minutes. A few unfortunately don't do it quite as smoothly. I'm sorry for you Morph, that you fell into the latter category. ~smiles sweetly~ Thank you beyond words LD, that you are able to assist with such eloquence and fortitude. We are exhausted and overjoyed at the overall response, results, and reception the tool has received. After 3 days up I too, am going to get some much needed rest now. LD has graciously offered to assist those that he is able to in our absence and he on ICQ if not here or the TGP2 board. You may feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] if you have additional questions and I or Midnight will get back to you when we are able. Have a lovely evening everyone, Warm regards and a bright smile of thanks for you LudeDude for all of your help tonight, Kandi ------------------ Midnight Ventures Partner Program We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars. -Oscar Wilde |

I do agree that there should be one screen, perhaps we can call it "JOb Status" where you can look at the jobs. I will attempt to accomplish this by Wedensday's release. The Database is, as mentioned above by Ludedude, property of Midnight Ventures and is password protected. Quote:

If you could email those to me at [email protected] I would appreciate it. I have not seen any responses like that myself. All sites placed into the submitter were done so at the request of the webmasters. If a webmaster is sending out a response like that, they will be REMOVED from the submitter list. In our opinion, this would be akin to a gallery creator placing a gallery into submission and then modifying it after it was posted. The submitter is a tool that allows TGP2 webmasters to get their sites on an auto-submission list and I will not allow any webmasters to receive posts from my tool and then change their posting rules anymore than I would allow a gallery creater to post to my tgp2 board and then change their gallery page to all blind links. If there are any other questions I can address, please feel free to contact Kandi or myself.
