I would say Ali, Tyson in his prime never had to prove himself against any good fighters, and the good ones were way past their prime already.

Any boxer with real talent has eaten Tyson for breakfast (I know, post-prison)

Ali on the other hand worked his way through some of the best boxers, while they were in their prime.

if you asked 50 boxing journalists or people in the industry who wins that fight, 49 will say Ali and Steve Kim will say Tyson just to be different. Nobody who really follows the sport passionately believes Tyson beats Ali, or even a young Larry Holmes. Tyson had big trouble with any guy who was mobile and had a long jab.

He was a great fighter in a time of weak competition, but when he stepped up to other elite fighters he lost. Every time. Whatever excuses you want to give, he lost, and he certainly wasn't that far past his physical prime the first time he fought Holyfield and got an asswhipping. He was still in his physical prime when he got KTFO by Douglas.

You think Buster Douglas beats a young Ali? Ever?

Tyson's style was dramatic and that made him look extra extra good when he won, but that doesn't mean it's all powerful.

So you think Tyson's right hook was overrated and any good fighter could have withstood the flurry?

2 different fighters seperated by 20 years of the sport getting bigger and more competative, in the 60's heavy weights were lighter, more like light heavy wieghts today.

On a sheer power contest comparing both men in their prime, it is Tyson.

As for fancy footwork and the ability to fake out opponents it's ali.

But Tyson would have fucked Ali up!

What would be a really interesting fight would be Ali in his prime vs. Lewis in his prime,
there you got two intellegent boxers, and Lewis just happens to hit as hard as anyone you can imagine (+ inceridible accuracy)

Ali would've taken Tyson, but I am not sure about Lewis
