Not super dressy, but try James Beach in Venice. Nice place, great food, not much of a scene.

James Beach is great.
Piccolo Cipriani (the old 5 Dudley) has THE best service by the beach, and fantastic Italian food. They don't take reservations so sometimes there's a wait. The Lobster in Santa Monica, Jer-Ne at the Ritz in the Marina, Cezanne at the Le Merigot Hotel in Santa Monica are all good choices as well. 26 Beach, C&O (either location on Washington), 12 Washington are all great food but since they're right at the beach you don't have to get that dressed up. Hama in Venice is great for sushi, so is Kifune, but once again, both right at the beach so no huge need to dress up. Asian fusion cuisine, Chinois on Main in Venice is much better than the one in Vegas, from what I've heard. Those are just a few off the top of my head that are in this area. |
