Actually, The Simpsons were segments on the Tracy Ullman show for the first year or so of FOX before getting their own series, so they are a year or so younger than FOX.

Remember The Simpsons was a spin off from the Tracy Ullman show. So Fox can't be the same age as The Simpsons.

And yeah, that was a widely-hyped boring ass show. I turned it off in the middle of Jack the Ripper too.
