Can anyone recommend a good deck for transferring digital video from tape to PC?

For the DV cam tapes the Sony DSR-20 is a good machine and handles both the large and mini dvd tapes.

The motor in mine just went out. It "drags" the tape through. Looking for a cheap way to pull the video until Santa comes.

Come to think of it , I have an old IBM server with a backup tape drive. Could this work? Is it the same tape?

Looks like sony did it and it flopped, the model was the DVR-100
http://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/t239171.html Oh, and btw, that tape drive is most probably a DAT drive, won't work with miniDV |
