Do people still host on Cogent?
A rep is offering me 10$/mbit on the shit....I wouldn't mind throwing some backup shit on it...but I wonder if it's even stable enough for backup shit.
Anybody host on it still that can comment on it's quality since they've mass-acquired other networks

Yeah, the 200meg commit at $10/meg heheh... still going on if you have the right contact.
Yes, cogent is good now, the only bad thing about them is the perceived reputation that theyve aquired over the years from mostly causes not related to them. Cogent is better than BtN, HE.net, and I'd even say Nlayer at this point. Although west coast presence is still lacking, central and north east (CHI), as well as east coast are pretty strong. I havent had any downtime over Cogent in over a year now. |
