Firefox phishing vulnerability discovered

A vulnerability in Firefox could make users of the open source browser more likely to fall for phishing scams.

The flaw in Mozilla Firefox 1.0, details of which were published by Secunia on Tuesday, allows malicious hackers to spoof the URL in the download dialog box which pops up when a Firefox user tries to download an item from a Web site. This flaw is caused by the dialog box incorrectly displaying long sub-domains and paths, which can be exploited to conceal the actual source of the download.............

I'm not bitching at all about I.E but my preferance now is Firefox.I have been using I.E for years and was just tired of all the spyware and bullshit.
As far as vulnerabilities go.I.E has had way too many for anybody to feel secure and more and more people are switching because of it.
Adaware, spybot s&d,hijack this etc etc aren't sufficient enough anymore.

I use IE so that I know what users are seeing and experiencing. If firefox eventually becomes a real competitor and is used by a healthy number of surfers I'll surf using it too.

yes and that's when hackers will create more exploits for it, but to each his own. Like I said when FireFox fixes the problem I have with it I'll use it more. By the way I still don't get all the orgasm peole get over tabbed browsing. this feature is one of the things that make FireFox "superior" to IE. I have yet to see the benfit. In fact if anything it slows my surfing down. So much easier just to look down and click the other window if I want to go to another page.

I like FireFox very much, but IE still faster in here, and on FF, some sites do not open correctly ... I don't know if this is only with me. Think you should give a try.
