I was looking at my stats for my site, in it it says that

User Browser Micro$oft Internet Exploder 79%

What is this thing?
Does it do anything to my site?

I dont do alot of traffic, but out of 773 unique hits today, 79% were using that browser.

Is it a virus? a Plugin?
