Whenever you start to get wood push against something. For instance if your at the rear of the car press your leg against the bumper and push against it or a wall or anything really.

the bus thing - that's hourly reality for me. It SUCKS!

I think any stimulus that involves the sympathetic nerve (adrenalin etc) will constrict vessels and thus 'bring it down'. Maybe pushing against something does work...
