I use SuperJPG but the company that makes it is out of business. It's great at batch resizing but the output is a little blurry. I wish I could give you another suggestion but I can't. As a matter of fact I don't even know why I just posted.

I use Xat (xat.com) I'm not sure if they still have free trials, but can tell you it's a good investment.

I mostly use Adobe PS/Image Ready
