I just recently moved Cross Country from NJ to the San Fernando Valley.

Anyone know a good place to buy furniture here? I've been to a few stores and haven't found anything I like.

There's an Ikea in Burbank. Good stuff there. Hooters is a quick walk from there also.

yes, there is a place on Ventura BLVD around the Sherman Oaks area, just west of the galleria by a few blocks....its on the north side of the road, I forget the name but just drove by it the other day...

italian furniture....love it

After our house fire in 2001, we were able to completely furnish our apartment at Burbank's Ikea store for less than $2500. Oh year we got an employee discount too, that helped.

Stay away from Reed's furniture in Agoura. They tried to charge us more for an item after we ordered and paid for it. Other people I know have received furniture arrive damaged and have taken more than 2.5 years to straighten out - so just say NO to Reed's.

Depends on what you are looking for --

If you want nice stuff and dont mind waiting for it or paying a decent chunk for it, I'd suggest you head down towards W Hollywood and do some shopping over off Melrose by the Pacific Design Center.

If you're looking for moderately priced furniture that usually gets delivered in two weeks or less, but is still quite nice, try Crate and Barrel, Restoration Hardware or Z Gallerie.

If you want something you can take home with you, go to IKEA.

After I get the couch and dinning room out of the way. I'll need help tracking down a good place for a tv.

I suggest you go to Western Blvd in Hollywood - best furniture deals in town - really is a goldmine - I buy stuff for set dressing and such all the time down there - cheap and good looking stuff

I'll have to go check it out myself. I got a buddy in the home theater biz who told me to stay away from Samsung. Something with the way they generate the picture wasn't clear enough. But if you says it's Crystal Clear I'll look at it.

The thing with the Hitachi is that the 70" is huge. I used to have a 61" before I moved and I loved it. But the 70 is a world of difference.

It's really is like going to the movies at home.

(take the 134 to Victory Blvd going north. Stay on it past the Costco, and it will curve around to the left and the GreatIndoors is in that new complex with BestBuy and Target and all that. The great indoors has shit furniture that will break in 3 or 4 years and is more exensive.

On Lankershim Blvd between Magnolia and Riverside are TONS (like 6) big furniture stores. They all have shit furniture that will last longer.. or sometimes less. Good luck.

And don't go to FRY's at least not the one in Canoga or the one in Burbank.
