DVD to AVI: interlace or de-interlace when encoding?

When you rip video from DVDs, do you keep the interlacing or do you de-interlace source during the encode?
I kept this simple, please use the poll

Well, it's not so simple as a "yes" or "no". It depends on several things:

1)The frame size of the original..which if from dvd is usally 720x480..and many time deinterlacing helps.
2)The QUALITY of the original..even dvds can be of low quality.
3)the frame speed the original is encoded in.
and of course
4)Was the ORIGINAL interlaced?

LOL

A business thread ....

OK, I leave it interlaced. But again, do a test on a short clip ( trailer ...) and see by yourself.
