I used ARS Rewards points for a ton of shit over the years including:

Weber Genesis Platinum grill ($1500 value)
Roomba robo floor vac (just got this about two months ago - still haven't used it yet).
Electronic Dart Board for gameroom
MP3 players
and a bunch more..

BUT... I really don't consider these "gifts", being that you had to sell a ton of memberships to accumulate those kinds of points.

As for gifts... let me see.. how about ZERO gifts from any sponsor. In the heyday back in '97/98/99, I was earning over $30k a month from Intergal, and never once did they send me a one single thing. One would think if I'm earning that kind of coin, they had to be earning $60-70k on that, so you would think they would hook a brother up. Nope...

Needless to say, Dean sold his interest in Intergal in '02 I believe, and less than a year later the company went under and boned some people, including myself for around $5k. So much for long time relationships with sponsors. But Dean was a pleasure to work with.. it was just the new people weren't so fantastic.

Actually, let me correct myself.. I did receive a PlatinumBucks desk calendar aorund the beginnign of the year. Woo hoo!

That was back in the day when sponsors didn't have to worry about sending silly gifts to their affiliates just to keep them happy. Honestly, I would rather earn more money than see all that money go to waste on XBoxes and useless crap.

In a cut-throat industry like this one, I would think sponsors back then, AND now should try to keep their affiliates happy. I'm not saying to give away the farm, but a little nod to their hard work isn't such a bad thing - and is priceless in terms of loyalty. $150 box of Omaha steaks is a small price to pay for someone bringing 10's of thousands of dollars to your business monthly. Just my

Coolest gifts let me think about this...

I have won 2 plasmas... One from Homegrown Cash like 2 years ago and one recently from Naughty America. I have received lots of nice gifts such as baskets, books and bbq packages.

I have some very generous business associates

If they would throw a golf tourney for top webmasters and fly them over, really on the costs of the affiliate program, yes. But "giving away" things by earning points and stuff, no. All that stuff justs comes out of YOUR money anyways.

There are other ways to appreciate clients besides handing them over an iPod on your costs every month.
