Pension - good or bad?

What do you think about the whole pension thing
is it good or bad that a little bit of your check (if u had a real job) goes to pension

If you are unemployed are u supposed to get a sep instead of ira? I read somewher that with an ira the max amount you can deposit is a few k, but with sep, it's much more. is this correct?

Maybe for some, but too big part of the population is happy that they survive until next paycheck. They would not even think of pension until it was time to retire.

Just ask my Grandfather who retired in 1975 what he thinks of a pension. He will be paid monthly till he dies.

$4800 per month including cost of living increases until he dies.

Then $2400 per month to my Grandmother plus cost of living increases till she dies.

If you can find a job that has a pension, jump on it.
