VNC - www.realvnc.com

Works with Windows, Mac, *nix. Software or browser based client. And the basic version is free.

Remote desktop connection is great, the only drawback is when you have active derectory installed, RDC allows only 2 simultanious connections (this is also a case for some Small business solution licenses.)
plus you can set it so on a remote machine that you could see local drives (slower than ftp though) & access to printer as well.

This is what I use, haven't tried any other. Loaded this up and ran with it very quickly so never had a need to try anything else.

Thanks guys...

I noticed that Remote Desktop Connection does not let me reboot the remote machine...Also certain programs like Adobe Premier Pro will give me audio errors if I try to open the program from a remote computer.
Im gonna try some others...

-or-
Start > Windows Security > Shutdown > select Restart

I don't think anything beats Go2MyPC for ease of use and functionality but Remote Desktop & Terminal Services work just as well. The only thing they miss is the easy file transfer abilities that Go2MyPC gives you.

in my remote start menu i see log off, disconnect. no option to shut down or switch user...the only I know how to reboot is by installing or uninstalling software that prompts you for a reboot...

anyone have this same problem?
