Does anyone still hang out with your old friends?

I still hang out with alot of my friends from highschool/middle school.

Almost all of them do labor jobs or things similiar.

They always call me rich bastard, and say things like buy me this you can afford it(not bit things, just like drinks when we are at a bar). I know they are just jelous, ect.. It really starts to piss me off because I never say things about money to them and never act like im above anyone.

Do most of you guys hang out with your old friends or have you found new ones with similiar careers/interest?

I let them wash my car and pick up leaves in the yard.

That is pretty much the extent of 'hanging out'

I have had the same friends for about 25 years, it's nice to know you have friends that will stick by you for good or bad. Those are real friends.

I hang out with some of my friends from way back in grade school. I take em out to eat and stuff sometimes, but it isn't like they beg me to pay for it. Hell they paid for pretty much all my drinks at the bar last night.

I didn't have many friends in high school, so no. And I don't talk about money with my current friends, only the ones who make more than me.

I do. Most of them are as close to me as my family. I have grown up with these people and I usually talk to most of them every day.
Money is not really a problem with my friends. When we go out we take turns paying and if one guy doesn't have as much money he just buys something cheap. I can't say that I care much about what I drink when I've already had 10... :-)

Still hang out with 3 of my friends from public school, and a bunch of friends from high school.

Trouble is my friends from public school are all alcoholics, so when we hang out it usually just involves drinking. Don't have a lot in common with most of them anymore, other than a nasty binge drinking habit and the fact we grew up together.

I've only kept two friends that I know from high school. One is a doctor and the other works in finance.

I do see people I went to school with on a fairly regular basis though. A few years ago, I was going through the drive through at McD's and the girl at the window recognized me. She was someone I hung out with in middle and early high school. About a month ago, I was at the grocery store and saw another girl that I was close with in h.s. She was pushing a stroller with 2 kids and had married the brother of her h.s. best friend. At the time I felt a little bad that I had very little to say to either of them. But, people grow and develop and those who grow and develop in the same direction you do are generally the ones you stay close to. Otherwise, what are you going to talk about? baby formula? the fry machine?

I am still very close with many friends from highscool...They range from Doctors to one Highschool Drop Out. When you have been close since youve been young it becomes an unconditional friendship so all those things are irrelevant

Thats about how it is with us. I really have nothing in common. The only time I hang out with them is when we drink. Most of them sit there and talk about construction half the time. Kinda sucks. We all used to hang out every day and do all sorts of stuff together but I kind of faded away as I don't really have much in common with them.

I don't have contact with any friends from school anymore even though I live maybe 5 miles from where I graduated.
I have had some friends in the adult biz for 6, 7, 8 years though. Seems to do just fine for me.
