UK Webmasters - 2257 and Data Protection Act
Has anyone looked at the possibility of the new 2257 coming into effect and the possible conflict with the Data Protection Act 1998 ?

As the content I shoot is only on my own sites, I'm adding to my 2257 notice that due to UK laws governing our Data Protection Act, we are not allowed to make public a models private details. This will go just before the address where they are held and that they are available for law enforcement agencies only, with an official application to see them.
I believe that other countries around the world have the same provisions for data protection as us. |

on some levels I find threats of being charged with breaking the Data Protection act more frightening...mostly because we know they crack down on it.

Canada has a similar law, the Personal Information Protection act. It's pretty scary.

I'm also on a lot of webmasters "Mr Nice Guy" lists .. I piss of a few people ... BFD. I piss off those who don't know me and criticise. What pisses me off more, is when I prove my critics 100% wrong and they vanish as the truth has prevailed... If you were watching the thread started by Kit on GG&J, you would have seen me prove that both Kit and the arsehole from the UK were wrong.... They were both very quick to flame but not to hold their hands up when proved wrong... DUH. And who are you any way ... webmaster/affiliate/surfer... ??? What ever.. I couldn't care a fuck ![]() ![]() |
