Karups, Boy Fun, EENT 2257 Announcment

EENT Inc., a.k.a. XXXRewards, Karup's Private Collection, Karup's Hometown Amateurs, and BFCollection would like to advise all of our loyal affiliates of some changes that will be taking place with our affiliate program in light of the new 2257 requirements that will become active June 23, 2005.

As a company that has always been concerned about its affiliates and whom has consistently take steps to protect them through the years we want to make you aware of several factors. The new 2257 legislation is something that will affect many people besides those now considered secondary producers. In an effort to comply with new legislation and protect the identities of our performers this is what we have decided to do for our company and those involved with us.

Effective June 23, 2005 we will no longer be providing content that can be deemed ?sexually explicit?
to our affiliates for the purpose of creating galleries, web pages and other promotional materials.

By definition. 2257 is a record keeping/creating and maintaining law and can only affect those that are required to keep records. Softcore content in our attorney's opinion is not covered under any 2257 legislation to date. Affiliates publishing sponsor materials that do not depict actual sexual explicit sex do not need to keep records under the 2257 legislation.

Our webmasters TOS pages will be updated to explain in detail what this means to you and where you can get new content and promotional materials that will comply with new legislation. There are no exceptions to this no matter what country you live in. As of June 23, 2005 anyone caught promoting our sites after that date using hardcore content and not complying with the new 2257 legislation will have their account closed.

We are committed to making our webmasters as much money as possible while remaining responsible. We will be going though our affiliate area and providing an abundance of non sexually explicit images for our webmasters use in building galleries , web pages and other promotional materials. We will also be adding many, many more hosted galleries that display hardcore content since linking to these pages does not require you to hold records. More details on this to follow. We are also actively working on alternative compliant solutions to provide our webmasters with what they want in regards to promotional materials. It is our intention to provide you with as many tools as possible.

These changes are based on current legislation, if our attorneys or the FSC are able to fight the point that are unjust and get the laws changed or blocked we will then keep you up to date with future changes. We encourage all of you to donate to the FSC to help fight this and to contact a lawyer that specializes in 2257 or adult content law.

We are here to help you during this transition, please feel free to contact us with any question you may have about how this affect you as our affiliate. We will now concentrate on answering our Affiliates questions and will not be available to comment on this in a public forum. Any questions EENT affiliates have, should be handled by emailing [email protected] with your question and your affiliate ID.

I love companies who protect models instead of worrying only about the bottom line. Perfect example of LONG TERM THINKING.

If all the programs, tgp's, etc. had kept the teaser images softcore from the get go we wouldn't be dealing with this 2257 crap.

As an industry we have no one to blame but ourselves.

those sites and act are the main reason of the 2257

It's the only long term solution to this problem. Putting models in jeopardy by handing out IDs is wrong. Period. That leaves this as the only solution.

Look in the future. Surfers will have to pay and they will retain longer. which means Programs can afford to bump up payouts ect. or you will make more in rev-share

I predict a lot of 404 redirects coming soon.

Awesome post btw. Where are all the non US webmasters that were yelling about how this wouldn't effect them at all?

Shouldn't be too hard to redirect to a compliant gallery. I know I have a lot of work to do on my sites that promote others, but you don't see me bitching about it. It needs to be done.

definitely a good move guys.

A model's safety is vastly more important than a few bucks. Many people don't understand this point ... that as paysite owners, we have to deal with some of the most twisted fucks in the world who would do ANYTHING to get at a model's personal info to stalk him/her. ... not to mention the bible thumping extremists who wouldn't think twice about placing a bomb on their doorstep.

It is unfortunate that G dub and Gonzoles and their groupies can't see past their own noses.

Once again guys, good move, and you have our full support and cooperation in your decision. We wouldn't bat a single eyelash if we have to change any content b/c of this. Happy to oblige.

model safety should be number one. The government should have thought about this when coming up with the term secondary producers

2257 and moves like this will only strengthen our industry as a whole. Conversions will eventually get better from it (get rid of free porn) and the serious companies will prevail. Good move by KARUPS, I hope more companies follow suit really fast.

Another one of the biggest and most respected taking the right stance on this issue. Protecting their model as well as supporing their affiliates.

Nice job!

I assume this means that you can still use your *own* purchased content if you are a non-US webmaster? Just looking for clarification.

Seems like it would be easy enough to find out.

This 2257 situation is showing some to be thinking long term and others short term.

Last year the cry was how easily some companies were handing over names to Acacia. This year we see the people who are prepared to hand over models names and IDs to anyone and those who will not.

Which ones do you think will go the extra yard to also protect you and which ones do you think will hand you over for a few dollars?

No there are a few who are so desperate they will give out models IDs to affiliates. Probably scared that losing a few affiliates will break them.

Seems all those talking to lawyers are coming up with a similar solution.

Why couldn't a US webmaster use his own purchased hardcore content? If you assumed that 2257 means US webmasters can't use hardcore then you're not reading the regs very well.
