Need some laptop help from the gfy techies...

Ok here's the problem... every time I shut my laptop and put it in standbye she wont wake up from it.

I can close the lid.. wait a few minutes, go an open it again and all I get is a black screen. It looks like she is going to wake up, but never does... This just started happening within the past 24 hrs... And its real annoying....

I've run a virus check, checked for spsyware shitz, clean the disk up, and have double check the wakeup settings... and its still doing it...

anyone have any ideas on whats going on? its a dell...

lol i had a feeling it was a dell

dell laptop screens are fucking HORRIBLE. when you leave it on for too long it'll start acting up and the more and more this happens, you're screen will never turn on. Only way I gotten around it is to shut off my computer when I'm not using it.

BTW DELL SUPPORT FUCKING SUCKS

inspiron 1100?

your fucked pretty much. you need a new screen. i had one of those and it gave me the same shit after about a year and a half. finally after fucking with dell for a fucking month we just agreed to them upgrading it for free. i got the inspiron 2600 outta the deal, and it works like a charm, no probs as of yet.

to avoid talking to some guy in sadui arabia, instead of calling the support numbers call the "i want to buy" numbers

Really? You see if it wont wake up after going into standybye I can pull the battery and then she will boot up from scratch and the screen works fine... Which makes me think its not a screen issue...

Actually, I wasn't trying to be a wise ass. I have a Dell and pressing the "ON" button is one way to bring it out of standby mode. Maybe it depends on the model though

Figured out what it was.... For some reason this bitch updated itself recently with a new video controller... So I went to the dell support site and downloaded the previous version and wallaaaaaaaaa it works!

Must be some sort of conflicting issue with the new update... Now I just made this bitch shut off the auto updates....
