very true.

the simple reason is that life is too good in the west---in civilized society people understand that the poor, uneducated, crazy people don't need to live in a mud hut and scrape around in the dirt for bugs to eat or walk 5 miles for water. taxpayers will (reluctantly) take care of them.

but many camel jockeys have to do desperate shit just to survive. so terrorists offer the guy's family money if he'll become a suicide bomber.

it is MOSTLY an economic thing, not an ideological thing.

if people have the basic neccessities of life (food, water, shelter) they are less apt to kill themselves for ANY reason.
