Even if you figure people work part time, so lets say 4 hours a day.. 4 hours X 103 employees X $9 an hour $3708 a day in staff before benefits, taxes, and all that bs.

Or if you do
8 hours a day X 103 employees X $6 = $4944 a day..
4 hours a day X 103 employees X $6 = $2472 a day..
Again before taxes and crap..

Something doesn't add up.. So I'm going to assume some do it for free for traffic reasons..

they said bloggers, not employees,i dont think they pay 103 people a wage to post

also adsense credits accounts having an algorithm, your typical account will never make $1mil in a year even if you send the whole yahoo traffic. You need different level adsense account.

I just went off of what they said "103 bloggers on the payroll"..

With 103 people, even if it's small amounts of money plus 8 staff, hosting, servers, taxes, and all that.. It doesn't seem like they would end with much profit. I'm sure they do though or they wouldn't keep doing it, but like many online business, it isn't all that hard to make money but turning a huge profit is.

He states that it is just part of there advertising revenues.
I was more impressed with the growth

January we did $580 a day on average.
March was a $737 a day average.
May was a $1,585.57 average.

Im sure they are making a good money but what I would not be suprised if they were bought out/partnered with a HUGE media company over the next 12 months..

You guys have no idea how this company runs or its expenses. 9 staff members. Thats at LEAST $18k a month $220k a year. Taxes? For 9 employees, $1 mil a year is NOT a lot of money. NOT at all.

While that is true.. If google takes up most of the top ad slots and they have some other sponsors you can be pretty sure that the other sponsors aren't paying top dollar.. But yet, still more revenue from other places.

Honestly they might have just started making a profit. Its normal in mainstream to wait 2-3 years to even see a profit and I'm sure they dont have trouble getting investors for blogs.

Just because they made $2,335 on one day doesn't mean that they make $1 M per year ...

"However, yesterday we broke our $2,100 record with a $2,335 day"

Before some of you guys with lots of "fake-blogs" get all excited take your time to check their stuff and see what a REAL blog is all about....

plus a blog that gets updated once a month ain't worth shit (compared to a real one)

Their bloggers get paid between a couple hundred to a few thousand a month. They definately do not have 101 full timers. I think their total employee expenses comes to just under $1 mil a year.

And that doesn't even include their banner ads -- which is adding another million a year onto their revenues.

So yeah, they are doing pretty damn good.

sorry, but breaking $2.3k per day isn't really making $1M/yr. i can take my top day and say whoa, i'm making 750k/yr. they can say "this year so far we made $350k which would be way more real"

Correct. If i'd take my top day I'd be making 7,4 million a year .. which I don't make (yet)

So, Einstein, please show me the rules saying that a blog only updating once per month is not a REAL blog.

You seem to have no clue about the fact that blogs emerged as online diaries, where people would make additions in their SPARE time, which in many cases only occured once per month. Then again, the ones that became successful (in terms of traffic) where the ones which updated more often. But nowhere, along the line of blogs' existence, did the ones updating once per month start being any less real than the ones updating daily. So, take your foot out of your month and stop commenting on things you don't have the slightest fucking clue about.
