Question for soccer fans regarding 2006 World Cup qualification group games

what if there are 2 teams in one group with the same points... they made a draw against each other, 1:1 and 2:2...
so will the team that scored 2 away goals be at the top, or only the OVERALL aggregate of all games matters?

Hmm, the overall aggregate for the group i'd imagine.

I'll not need to worry anyway...

seriously tight in that group 4 alexg.. lots and lots of draws so far.. check this out:

African group 4:
01. Angola 8 4 3 1 8 6 15
02. Nigeria 8 4 3 1 11 4 15

Why would Angola be ranked first? They've got +2 in scoring while Nigeria got +7... only reason I could think of would be the previus result: 20-Jun-2004: Angola - Nigeria 1:0

would it be the same in group 4 with:
Ireland Republic 7 3 4 0 11 4 13
France 7 3 4 0 8 1 13

both got +7 and 13 points.. Ireland is ranked first of them

09-Oct-2004 France - Ireland Republic 0:0 ... so I'm assuming that Ireland is ranked first of them due to that nice away result...

I think this is the order:

Points
Previous results between the teams
Goal difference
Goals scored

If by some fluke of fate all that turns out the same then I suspect it would go to goals scored away from home, however dont quote me on that. But hey in the past it would have been on the toss of a coin.

dont worry

ireland and france will beat swizerland and we'll finish 3rd...
it means next time israel plays in thq quali. we'll need to top only 2 teams which are better than us and not 3...

i dont see a way all 3 games will finish in a draw. doesnt make sense.

if ireland and france beat switzerland then ireland and france will go through

unless one of them loses points against cyprus or faroe islands
