I just hit a buffet with my dad tonight. Had pork stirfry, hot Italian sausage, fried chicken and roast beast.

We pigged out like savages.

Now it's time to walk it off.... just walk it off! :D

After a certain age the vegan lifestyle is the best way to go IMHO. Cut out the meat & dairy and you have no choice but to feel better.

I hope you cut back on the dairy too KRL... didn't you?

If you're doing it for health reasons you might as well give up sugar while you're at it.

do a search fr me and sugar, i have long since preached my giving up of refined white sugar. it is a chemical that is more of a drug and does more damage to society as a whole than any other substance.

The biggest reason sugar does more damage than any other poison, drug or narcotic is twofold:

* (a) It is considered a "food" and ingested in such massive quantities, and
* (b) The damaging effects begin early, from the day a baby is born and is fed sugar in its formula. Even mothers milk is contaminated with it if the mother eats sugar, and
* (c) Practically 95% of people are addicted to it to some degree or other.

i try not to consume refined sugar in any way.

IT is not meant for human being to digest cellulose

it just isn't natural

if you want the best of both worlds, why not just eat kosher food?

My 5 year old son already preaches to me about "white sugar".

"White sugar is bad dad!"

"Does this have white sugar in it?"

"I can't eat that because it has white sugar on it!"

Nope, just has a great mommy who's teaching him to eat healthy from a young age so he lives a long life and doesn't "Get a belly like daddy".

It's not about the animals at all - I'm a vegan and the energy increase you will not believe.

You know that feeling, after a big steak - **tired **, well as a vegan - it'll just be a bad memory

I wish we had a better selection of seafood in finland..
we have like 4 different fish and no fresh shellfish.
I need to buy my shellfish frozen, and it's fucking expensive.. like 2lbs bag of tigerprawn tails is $30+, like 200grams of scallops is $10 etc...
I LOVE a good beef tenderloin now and then, maybe some reindeer or just deer. My menu consists mostly of white meat and fish though, red meat and pork are getting old after 5 times a week for 25 years or so. lol.

I have been vegetarian for around 2 months now. It's been going great. Was originally planning on just having meat once or twice a week, but I lost the craving for it after 2-3 days. Been a lot healthier since, lost about 20 lbs total... More energy = more work getting done. Just my 2 cents.

The current demand for meat products requires that they be raised in confined spaces, often stacked in crates on top of each other. This requires steroids to replace bulk gained in nature by activity. On top of that, the close confines require anti-biotics and other medicines to keep diseases from spreading amongst the animals. Many of these compounds are not neutralized during the cooking process. The situation is even worse when you take into consideration the unsanitary, negligent and sometimes intentionally abusive processing facilities exposed many times by hidden camera.

I can only report my own results. I am the only vegetarian in my family and am the only one who hasn't caught a cold/flu/etc. for 2 decades. If you are eating anti-biotics at most of your meals it only stands to reason that you will develop a resistance to them.

Well put! I am trying to go veg too. Chicken is the one thing I find hard to give up. I will only buy Free Range, No Hormones, No Antibiotic meats.

I love meat , pork and chicken

Bacon on a Saturday morning. Sometimes I'll eat the whole pound myself.

My brother and his wife are vegan. Over the weekend I made vegan tamales for a ton of peeps. They were a hit. After it was all gone I went to In and Out burger lolz

My fiancee is a lacto-veg, who just started eating eggs again (cage free only).
I make all of my regular recipes, just with vegan items instead of meat, like Yves meat crumbles, Quorn chix breasts and meatless meatballs from Trader Joes.

I've even tried vegan shrimp (not bad, but not as good as the real thing).

Yes, I know this thread is a couple years old ;-)

I was a die hard meater eater all of my 42 years, until March 1st of this year when i went not only Vegetarian, but full on Vegan all in one shot.

I haven't touched meat or dairy in 4 months, have lost 40+ pounds (i was nearly 280lbs when i went Vegan) and i feel healthier than i ever have in my life.

I eat lots of veggies, fruits, nuts, rice, beans bran, as much raw or natural foods as possible, and take multi vitamins daily.

My main reason for the change was health and to lose weight, but i'm also an animal lover and did always feel kinda weird eating them. It also helps that i was dating a smoking hot girl for the last year who is Vegetarian, and she decided to go Vegan earlier this year, so i decided to join her. I'll never go back, it's a big lifestyle decision, but if you do it right you'll feel great.

god damn all the vegan pussies in this thread that don't want to eat " the animals". What about the plants too, they are also god's living creatures, how dare you eat them too. While you will lose a lot of weight being a vegetarian, after you drop the weight you going to lose a lot of energy just eating nuts and berries. Nothing wrong with meat. Just about everything is good for you in moderation.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm does that make my mouth water...

So, are you going to cook up some puppy burgers? How about a nice cat stew? Horse foie gras sounds amazing...when are you cooking it up so I can come over and feast?

The argument that you will be healthier is very questionable because humans need meat or meat supplements to some degree. I think you'll still do better than those fat slobs munching away cheeseburgers all day.

I'm glad you don't do it for the animals.
This isn't true, I know people who haven't touched meat their whole life and they are very healthy.
