Did any of you guys see Raw last night? What an emotional night...A lot of the superstars, including Batista and Benoit broke down crying. Then they had a tribute to Eddie playing the Johnny Cash song. I had tears throughout the whole thing, it was a night I'll never forget..

Excataly what I thought. I've been watching wrestling off and on since I was in 5th grade. I never understood that bussiness. As I grew up to see that these guys actually do become friends and are involved in each other's lives is really cool. To see the tributes from guys like Chris Benoit, Ray Mysterio, Batista, and even Triple H was touching to say the least. I'm sure the taping tonight of Smackdown will include much of the same as Raw did last night.

It was a very sad show last night. The only thing that bothered me was Triple H. First of all, I can't stand this guy in the first place but if you listen to what he said last night and listen to what he said on the Owen Hart memorial show, it is almost the same excat thing. Plus, I didn't think it was too appropriate to mention Eddie's "demons". Other than him and maybe his wife, everyone else seemed very sincere.

ufc is usually pretty fucking boring.
90% of the matches (i've seen quite a bit, they show it on INHD all the time.. plus whenever it's on Spike) i've seen it ends up with one guy on top of the other in the missionary position for the entire fight....

I guess you are right about that, some are ground fighters and dont want to risk it fighting on their feet, although the missionary style (1st guard) sometimes allows great knockouts. But you are right on that point...however, this is how these fights would turn out in real-life and thats what I like so much about it. It's pretty much a street fight with supervision.

Wrestling is a soap opera for men. If you've ever seen women get wrapped up in a soap opera, you'll understand how men can get wrapped up in wrestling.

Relationships get formed, people hate each other, stories get very involved and there's a lot of emotion given as well as returned.

Personally, I haven't watched wrestling in quite some years, but I do remember. It's like watching a soap opera... you want to know who likes who, who hates who, who humiliated who... once you get into it, it's hard to get back out of because each show ends with the "I wonder what will happen next!" feeling... just as soap operas do.

And on top of that, you get some violence... whether staged or not, it's still pretty amazing to see. Especially if you've ever seen it live. It's not easy what they do.

First of all nobody is trying to compare it to UFC..Wrestling is "Entertainment". But this entertainment is achieved by these guys going out day after day taking bumps and working their asses off to please the fans..Traveling all year, living on the road, it is a hard life and some people dedicate their lives to it because they love the wrestling business.. While the storylines are fake, the bumps they take are NOT. The injuries they incur throughout their career are NOT.. I fully and unconditionally respect what these guys do. Granted some of the guys are really intelligent like Batista, the Rock, Triple H, Stone Cold, Etc, some are not, and this is all they have and they give their lives to it. I came to the USA in 1990 and have been watching Eddie Guerrero since 92 and I feel this is a personal loss to me because I grew up watching and idolizing him, among others. While I don't know the guy personally I can see how much he loved the business and how much of a family man he is. I don't think a wrestler's death has EVER had this much public exposure, but Eddie deserves it...It's a tragic loss and I wish his family the best, and may he rest in peace..

After the untimely passing of Eddie Guerrero, WWE and the entire sports-entertainment community is steel reeling from the devastating loss of a champion. The initial autopsy reports on Guerrero have come in. WWE.com spoke with Eddie?s widow, Vickie Guerrero, earlier today.

?It was heart failure. It was from his past ? the drinking and the drug abuse. They found signs of heart disease. She (the examiner) said that the blood vessels were very worn and narrow, and that just showed all the abuse from the scheduling of work and his past. And Eddie just worked out like crazy all the time. It made his heart grow bigger and work harder and the vessels were getting smaller, and that?s what caused the heart failure. He went into a deep sleep.

As soon as they saw his heart, they saw the lining of his heart already had the heart disease. There was no trauma, and Eddie hadn?t hurt himself in any way. It answered a lot of questions. I knew Eddie wasn?t feeling very good for the last week. He was home and kept saying he wasn?t feeling good and we thought it was just ?road tired.? So we thought he just had to rest. It answered a lot of my questions, too, because he was just so exhausted. She said it was normal because the heart was working so hard.

When he didn?t call me last night and the night before I knew it was for real, because he would call me every night. I miss his phone calls. I cried through the whole thing (last night).

I loved his laugh. His laugh was the best.

We just celebrated his four-year sobriety last Thursday. We just thought we had life by the handful. We thought we had it all figured out. He worked so hard to make a better life for us.

I?m just overwhelmed by how people are coming out. It?s touched my heart a lot.

Everybody was just in awe last night in how beautifully everything was put together.

All my life was wrestling. All he did was take care of them and live for that. And I don?t know what to do now.?

Apparently you missed The Undertaker throwing Mick Foley 20 feet off the top of a cage onto an announcer's table, Foley being carted out on a stretcher, refusing to quit so he got up, walked back, scaled the cage only to have the dead man choke slam him through the top of the cage onto the wooden canvas 15 feet below ... and then, after 15 minutes more of fighting be power-bombed onto thumbtacks.

Yes, it's staged, but these guys really do get hurt.

Anyhow, whatever your beliefs or feelings about the "sport" Eddie was a very popular guy and it's always a tragedy when someone so young passes on.

btw, for the curious, it was a massive heart failure likely due to the drugs and alcohol he was addicted to up until a few years ago - he went clean, but apparently too late.

Ya my cousin is a really big wrestling fanatic and this was a devastating blow to him and his buddies. I also can understand how he died. I first thought it was steroids or maybe he starting using drugs again but after i read the autopsy report it makes sense. I wish him and his family the best because he died at a young age. He was only 38. Smackdown on friday is having a tribute toh im as well just like raw did.

You know it's funny, but most people don't even know how to take a fall without knocking themselves out, let alone have ever been in a fight, let alone could even take a punch.

So wrestlers are supposed to take straight punches, 7 days a week year round, otherwise they're "fake"? lol

And there's always the homo card trying to be pulled. According to these people, most of the world is gay. Football? Oh noes, watching big bulky men "tackle" each other! Soccer? Oh noes, watching atheletic men play with balls wearing short nylons! Maybe you guys should just come out of the closet rather than bashing someone based on what he views as entertainment value.

People here are celebrating the life, and the sadness of a great person. I got to meet Eddie at an ECW show a long time ago and he was one of the people who would shake your hand and pay appreciation to the fans. He had a troubled life and made a great comeback, one of the great stories of overcoming adversity, and his past caught up with him while he was reaping his rewards while in the prime of his life.

Truly one of the greats. RIP Eddie.

According to his book the first fall was part of the show. The table was breakway, and there was padding around and underneath the table. The chokeslam thru the roof of the cage was not supposed to happen. In fact the chair that was there fell down and drove three off his teeth thru his top lip and knocked him senseless. The 15 minutes of fighting was taker giving foley time to recover so they could finish the match as planned.

as someone who has personally trained with dan "the beast" severn a few times, i can tell you that he said to me personally that he has gotten hurt worse doing pro wrestling than he ever did competing in the ufc... those of you who might not know, dan severn was one of the original ufc competitors and a former chapion of ufc as well...

... im not saying wrestling is better... actually i like both about the same... true the ufc is more boring these days (excluding fights like forrest griffin vs. stephan bonner)...
but its two seperate things... long live both the ufc and the wwe.
