Why don't more people use verotel? Is their a lot of bad history surrounding them?

verotel is a solid processor, not really any more bad history around their past than other processors that will remain unnamed who are still around... i feel safer using them (or other non-US based options) than US-based processors these days, for various reasons..

One thing Verotel has in their favor, - especially after the iBill fiasco, - is the fact they don't actually lay their hands on client funds.

Another processor with the same or similar security for EU based webmasters and corps is SegPay.com

They have slow or no support. Joinpages are often down. Joinpages looks awful.

On the flipside of the post above, conversions are better than with some other processors. They accept every possible card imaginable. Support is ok.

But, if you want to run an affilliate program using them forget it.

I have been using Verotel for 3 years and their payment record is perfect.

They have NEVER missed a payment/wire. When my pager goes off at 4am every Monday morning, I know it's my 'you have money on the way' email from Verotel - great way to start each week.

They have upgraded their network infrastructure considerably to take on all the 'refugees' post US CC rule changes and other processors going down.

Their TicketsClub solution is a bit non-standard and many webmasters using their Pro solution suggest that Pro is markedly superior to TicketsClub, but I have had very good success with TicketsClub, especially recently - conversions surpass other more 'traditional' style processors I have used.

In addition to having a clean slate as far as payments go, Verotel also offers a good suite of billing tools including: multi-currency, multiple-pricing based on local currency, CC, checks, 900, debit, asian card, SMS...

When US V CC regs changed, Verotel was and continues to offer 3rd party processing which does not fall under US jurisdiction without having to squint your eyes and pretend. There are other 'international' processors who have (and do) push the envelope as far being outside of US jurisdiction.

As a Canadian webmaster, I like Verotel as it offers more access to the world market and is not overtly US-centric in culture. Many euro members recognize Verotel as a trusted 'local' brand.

-Dino

p.s. If you do sign up with Verotel and use their TicketsClub solution, feel free to contact me for some tips on how to get your conversions as high as possible - I have some design suggestions which have made a big diff for me and I would be happy to share them.

There great but you will lose alittle business since it's a ticket system and not a merchant account.

ONCE you get more sales you can upgrade to a merchat style program.

I send them business almost everyday.

We have used them as primary on some of our sites for a while now with a Verotel Pro account. Never touched tickets club. Key points for non us biz is we can bill in Euros / GBP etc and get paid out in the same. Plus we are now getting rates as low as 5.4 or less with volume. No other US biller can compare to that , especially with the shite dollar rate, so its great to be paid in Euros / GBP. Intergration with NATS was a pain to begin with, but works like a dream now. Sign up pages are kind of strange, but who gives a fuck, they continue to card well and the rebill retention is good.
Thier admin is pretty dated, lacks many of the features that other billers offer, and yep support can be slow. We managed to get a contact their who we go to with problems or Qs and this usually gets us a quick response. They do have live support which seems to work around half of the time.
Overall they are great, and we defo make much more money by using them.

i can second the above references in regards to using their 'Verotel Pro' services instead of the 'Ticketsclub' system... in my opinion the Ticketsclub option is really only appropriate for micro-sites or those who are just starting out in the game.

their 'Pro' service is top-notch though, and they have never missed a wire for my sites either, i can also interject that i haven't really had any issues w/ their support team, but i stay up really late usually and call them via telephone during their business hours... so i cant speak for their email support.

you might also check out MyVirtualCard, we also use them on our sites and have found them to be a top-notch provider as well, and also far far away from the dreaded US soil... never missed a wire from them either, for what its worth. i wouldn't process w/in the US during the current political climes unless i was forced to at gunpoint, but thats just me..

As a "former" pass cracker I would say Verotel is a pretty good choice from a security standpoint; just be sure to rename and hide the "verotelrum.pl" file.

I use Verotel as both an affiliate and pay-site owner. Never really had any major problems. One of their cheques did bounce last month, but an adequate explanation was given, funds resent and charges reimbursed.

I suppose my one real gripe would be that they are a bit crap with email. It can be hard to get an answer to a simple question. Sadly, that's not just a Verotel problem these days. Fetish Dollars didn't reply to an email sent four times, CCBill have *never* replied to any email I've sent them.

Wow, I didn't know it was possible to integrate into Nats. That's a big plus for them considering they have higher conversion rates than most other billers according to nearly every webmaster that uses them.

Hmmm...

Our trial is $3.99 for 3 days so your cut is $7.96 for the 4 sales. Our trials convert to full ($24.99) at around 40% so give it some time and you will see some very good $$$.

Ps I do have an email on my site and my program that you can email me on, but if you prefer you can use GFY to report how you are going with my program, all I ask is you post how you are going once the trials convert to full

Ya, I'm not trying to say anything bad. I've sent little to no traffic from what I know since I can't get traffic stats through verotel. I'm actually suprised I got any sales at all since it's just from people typing your website name into some se's.

I read here that their rate is 5.4%? How is that possible? The visa rate at backs is already 4.8% or so....

Or did you choose 5.4% + X monthly price?

So far from what I see verotel offers less custom linking options, but you can at least track clicks under "my sales" or "my money"....

You can only find out clicks for a specific week or for all-time. There's no options to do so by month or date range. A real pain in the ass if you want to do something like track clicks over a period of a few months and work out ratios.

There are no custom linking options at all.

Also, if you promote a lot of sites on the one account, it's impossible to run reports for most of the day as the server can't handle it.
