Who can Upgrade my PHP and what will it take?

I switched servers and now my php is an older version than before (currently 4.3.2, was 4.3.11). The big problem is that many of my scripts dont run correctly now. I need help upgrading to 4.3.11 or even 4.4.1.

I'm running on RedHat EL3 with Plesk CP. I can pay via paypal if needed.

Thanks in advance.

I have 4.3.10 running ... it is a STABLE version ...

Ask your host to update ... If you are on a dedicated box, then can't you run an update script in ssh ???

To be honest...Im not exactly sure. The biggest one is SiteDepth...not sure how much shit I'd need to change for that.

I saw 5.1.1, but on php.net it said for 4.3.x users to upgrade to 4.4.1

PHP5 is a different animal than PHP4... some php 4 scripts won't work in php 5 if they weren't coded to strict standards... So, 4.4.1 and 5.1.1 are techically both the latest stable versions.

That's right.
I work with php5 past year and wouldn't want to touch earlier versions unless its a question of life and death ;)

with ssh:

If you downloaded a .tar.gz file for PHP then:

# tar -xzf /<path to where you saved>/php-4.3.10.tar.gz ( change to the dl version )

stick with the php 4.x.x.x

php 5 is going to cause you problems

yes, migrating from 4.3.x to 5.1 is a bigger hustle.

SiteDepth is a large project, don't they offer support for these kind of issues. Have you tried contacting them?

Still, if it is a new box, they should have installed one of the latest version ( .10 or .11 at least).

Otherwise, your manager panel ( Plesk, which I never used ) should have a way of updating scripts, software, etc ....

This is were you see that Cpanel/WHM is worth the extra few bucks.
