Organic or not?

Do you buy organic foods and products?

Is it worth the money and trouble?

I've read a lot of stuff by people who changed their lives to organic and eat much healthier. I think that's going to be the case whether your organic or not if you switch from processed foods to organics.

Always buy Organic Fruit, Milk and Veggies. I don't care what anyone says they DO taste better too!

I am starting to buy more organic products as I really don't want all the chemicals and insecticides, etc.

Meats must at least be FREE of hormones, anti biotics, pesticides, fed their normal diet and not be from mass produced slaughter houses that don't care what ends up in meat.

Organic food seems to have much better flavor than non-organic. More expensive though www.wholefoods.com

Make sure you all read up on what qualifies as organic and what the labeling requirements are for each. Some of it is a pretty cruel joke.

That's for damn sure.

Also, there are organic exceptions granted.

Let's say that ABC organic farm has a blight or a parasite that threatens to ruin their entire business. They are allowed to use chemical treatments and still sell the product as organic under law. So you may be eating food that isn't organic at all.

Same goes for fertilizer exemptions.

I've been doing the organic thing for a while now, I only buy non organic in a pinch...

I hate supporting nasty meat production, nasty agricultural habits, and putting any more crap in my body than neccessary. If I want to fuck up my organs I will reserve that for recreational things not food consumption! lol

Why eat organic foods?

Many other essential trace elements are completely absent in the non-organic foods whereas they occur in abundance in the organic varieties.

I've heard that too. Don Imus and his wife are huge proponents of Organics.

I haven't listened to Imus since i moved to Florida though.

It depends. I usually buy organic since I don't trust any of the other crap that's out there. I worked in the AG industry for four years I've learned that anything and everything in Safeway (or any other large chain) is absolute bullshit. The only exception to the rule is lemons. I can't stand the organic lemons here.

I'm going to try and find some organics this weekend.

The old farmers market I used to go to in another state that I lived at always had organics. I didn't notice any difference, but i suppose there is.

Some things yes. Although organic is not cheap.

Ive tried fruit, veggies, pizzas even. Organic coffee sure tastes different. But other then the taste the shit they spray on most fruit would have me go more organic too.
