Anyone else notice a huge drop in spam lately?

Not that I miss it.

I've been getting 300-500+ spam emails a day for as far back as I can remember. In the past few days though things have quietened down to a dull roar. So far today I've seen about 20.

Could the spammers have finally gotten the message that I will never buy anything from their shitty spam emails?

Nah, it must be their week off.

I'm just wondering if anyone else is noticing a steep decline in spam lately, that's all. Right now I have 14 emails in my shit bin, that's for the past 5-6 hours or so. Normally I would have about 100 or more over that period of time.

btw, again... I am not complaining. :D

it's just the fact that you are getting so many virus emails, that the spam number look small in comparision.

Actually, over this past weekend ONE of my email addresses was having this kind of trouble. I was getting 5-10 duplicates of each email on the server every time my email client did a retrieval. Then at some point on Sunday it all just stopped, and then so did the spam, basically.

Weird.

I just logged into the only mail retrieval for that account and all is clear now, everything is working perfectly..... but hardly any spam.

ba-da-ba-pa-daaaaa..... I'm lovin' it.

Interesting.

It's down to a trickle here.

I have my email client set to retrieve mail every 20 minutes, and usually each retrieval (from 15+ email addresses) nets me anywhere from 15 to 50 emails, and usually it's 90-99% spam. I have email accounts on servers in Vancouver, London Ontario, Kansas, wherever Google has their servers, and the rest are local.

So it's not due to my ISP or anything.

Hey, all I can do is shrug and hope it lasts. :D

Who knows, perhaps a silence before a storm.

Perhaps some huge spammer had to move his shit.

Happens once in a while I suppose.

most spammers will abuse the same lists as long as they can and then after a while when they don't generate sales anymore they switch to other lists.
