now, vx2100, hc1, or fx1 ?

No you told you wanted to shoot high quality dvd's since had a 400 buck camera I was being nice and trying to be helpful. I would wait for hvx200. Vx2100 is a great camera but its not true wide screen. The other two I see as waste of money personally no matter what you are shooting for.

If you are going to Internext, take a few and go to the CES over at the Convention Center and you can play with all the new cameras.

I like the NAB show better for video production equipment; but, the budget is usually in the red, bigtime, at the NAB.

I hate driving to Vegas......it is 30 hours there and 30 hours back. I end up killing a full week for 3 days work. And, for the most part, nothing to look at when on the road but desert.

Like I said, some will like it, others will not. It's that simple. I know from my own experience that my video production and content do indeed work and entertain people. It gets the job done and done well and what I shoot with has its own look defined by the equipment and way I use the equipment.
Those samples were the first two things I ever did with the camara and since then I know my camara how it works and what it does in situations.

In short I grew into it to understand it.

Thats an overly broad statement considering the growth of broad band in the United States alone, which has increased 3 fold from 2004 to 2005 nearly and of which is also the target consumer of most adult webmasters.

People scoffed at the concept that Internet would rival TV. People scoffed when the internet was thought impossible to take out print publications.
Its not Mainstream Media Companies laughing. The halls echoing laughter is that of pornographers running to the bank as mainstream's constant under estimation of the internet trumps em everytime.

Orly? 60%? You lack proof of this claim or you are misinformed about the adult internet audience. Volume is the first thing people turn off in adult entertainment online or to a very moderate level. But I doubt you have the experience to really know what people like on the adult internet or how they conduct themselves while viewing adult based content on the web. I have alot of experience in this, done research on the matter with online survey's and know some of what they expect.

Some of the best recent media productions have been done in Hi-8 especially concerning music videos. Hi-8 is no laughing joke, it has a really special look that people enjoy. Just like HDV it has great attack and some flaws no doubts and every producer oughtah consider the look they are attempting.

I know it is somthing I considered.

Sony Handycam DCR-DVD403 with $700 is excellent!
But if you plan editing, a mini-DV is better.

Oh Im sorry I forgot you didnt go to school for video and I did. When I shoot a scene i hang a $500 shotgun mic over the girls. Guys write how amazing the sound is hows its like Im in the scene. Now if you use the piece of shit built in mic on the camera I could see sound being unimportant to you. Sound is 60% of the video experience, it would be the same in adult as it is on main stream if it wasnt done so shitty for the most part.
