Mirko "Cro Cop" the best MMA fighter [videos]

I really don't see him ever losing another fight. He is seriously in his own league.

The most devastating kicks I've ever seen.

Very true. I've seen a few sudo and gomi fights, I like both of them too. I think Diego Sanchez from the Ultimate Fighter season 1 has the potential to be a top contender in his weight class, especially after the beating he put on Nick Diaz

Do you think UFC should allow knees and kicks to the head while they're down on the groud like Pride does?

that is one of the things that cracks me up about these fights. they wont let them fight out of the class.

I have worked out with some guys less than half his size, that would drop him in under 30 seconds.

agreed... crocop really needs a break... his last 2 fights have been really disappointing... if it wasn't for the 2 takedowns and those solid hits in the 3'rd round i think barnett would've won the fight...

hopefully next year he'll take some time off...

this guy must be the toughest guy in the world. by a factor of 10. I'm really curious who it is, I want to pay for all his training and have him take on Fedor, Crocop and Rodrigo Nogeira all at the same time. Especially if he's only 110 lbs and can drop Cro in under 30 seconds, WOW what a guy!!

He must be bulletproof and firebreathing huh?

and you know more than one? GUYS as in plural? WOWOWOW! Where do you train? Krypton?

Every serious sanctioned fighting incorporates weight classes. The UFC originally did not, but changing to a class based system was part of the required changes to legitimize MMA fighting.

You can't change the laws of physics and you don't know any magicians that can. Size and strength are always a factor. They might not be as important as training and skill, but it certainly factors in. A 200 pound man will always beat an equally trained 100 pound man. That's just the way it goes.

No, they don't allow them in the UFC because of the cage. If you get your head pinned against the cage and some one knees/kicks you in the head it can be pretty brutal.

In the ring your head has somewhere to go(outside the ropes), they also restart in the center of the ring when they're on the ground against the ropes, not true with the cage and UFC.

100% pure bullshit

2 equally trained guys = bigger guy wins everytime

Only time size doesn't matter is when there's no skill involved

Always is a bit too much man. The bigger fighter has more of an advantage, but fights always have a chance of going either way.

In BJJ, we have an unwritten law.

For every 20lbs you have on someone, they must have a belt level to counteract.

Anyone who thinks size and strength doesn't matter on equally trained individuals have never been in a real fight.

Maybe 10 years ago... But MMA has moved on... Strikers nowadays know how to deal with ground fighters... I love how people have this idea that BJJ is unbeatable...

Getting stood back up if there's no submission in 30 seconds makes it a little easier for them to deal with groundfighters I think.... but yes, strikers are all smart enough to train on the ground enough to deal with being on the ground now, at least long enough to get stood back up by the ref. Cro is extremely difficult to get down, so is Chuck Liddell.

Some of the middle weight, even lighter weights could beat the bigger guys. Maybe not dominate them, but they would damn sure win. Weight & size do make a difference, but when both are skilled it?s going to depend on who gets whom first. Even though the big guys have superior power, they flat don?t have the speed or agility of the smaller guys, making them just as badass.

Not all world top ranked fighters are the size of a house.

Military boxing, shoot fighting, etc, often mix weight classes. Small Military Bases go head to head, they may not be able to make all the weight classes, so they mix it up. Schools sometimes do the same thing. Quite often the lower weight class guys would beat much larger guys. They are trained, maybe not the level of WFC fighters, but trained enough to represent the USMC. Big guys, with skill, can and have been put down by much smaller guys.

The largest asset of the guys, besides being trained, is the frame of mind they are in while fighting. Hence why size isn?t that big of a deal. Clear mind, full attack mode but under control, with adrenalin under control, allows you to attack and defend properly. As soon as that concentration is broken, from a punch, kick, or whatever else, normally that is when the fight will end.

I used BJJ as an example, but it is good rule to follow in any fight, whether MMA, Boxing, Muay Thai, etc.

If experience and training is even, and the same, the bigger, stronger figter will always win.

BJJ groundgame was unbeatable. That's why Cro Cop has a BJJ coach, Wanderlai Silva got a BJJ Black Belt, Couture learned it after gettng subbed by Enson, Liddell is a purple, and the list goes on and on.

Not all strikers know how to deal with the ground game, That's why it's called MIXED Martial Arts. MMA fighters have a rounded game, stikers get their asses handed to them.
