Have You Ever Noticed That The Google Pr Ranking changes when you

Have you ever noticed that the pr ranking changes if you add or subtract the www. before the url?

For example http://www.trenchcoatyuppies.com/pages/790488/index.htm =pr3 but if you remove the www and just put
http://trenchcoatyuppies.com/pages/790488/index.htm it has pr0 ?

Another example is http://onlinemusicpromotion.com has a pr0 but when you
add http://www.onlinemusicpromotion.com it is pr3

Does anyone know why this is?

YARGH! Technically they be two different domains. Redirect one to the other to get the full pr benefit.

yeah

www.domain.com
main.domain.com
sub1.domain.com
sub2.domain.com
domain.com

will all have seperate PRs, as they are different subdomains by themselves. Usually I don't care about the //domain.com at all, since all my inbound links point to the www. subdomain

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} .
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.yourdomain\.com [NC]
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.yourdomain.com/$1 [R=301,L]

Put that in your .htaccess file and problem is solved...

And this IS a problem, the search engines follow those links throughout the page as you add links ..ie /pagea.html so the bot follows http://domain.com/pagea.php and all the rest and caches and indexes them, sounds good but its not.

On Google this may be enough to convince them that your domain is full of duplicate pages. Use the rewrites to send them all to 1 of the two, but i think natural linking mostly happens with the www. so i use it.
