Internext... was it as good for you?

Well even though I did a lot of running between show floors, dinners and parties, this year in Vegas ended up being the best for business so far.

Sure, it would have been great if AEE and Internext were combined and even some of the parties...

but it was worth the sore feet and sleep deprivation.

Vegas overall was great for biz and I had a blast... too much fun maybe. haha.

And you?

I have to admit, I walked through that show floor and it was dead.. No fancy red cars, no ron jeremy on a segway, no hot girls walking around, nothing. But what is funny is the internet is still screaming with life... I just think that the internext model is dying.

Inspite of that we shared a booth with video x pix and new machine at avn and that was rocking. Whats more funny is it was rocking with web guys too.

Lost my voice, tequilla was great, Danced with the oldest man @ the Playersball (many thanks to D-Money for this GREAT experience), got some business done and got to meet my old friends again and the new faces I got to meet were so many.

So besides the show floor was too empty , and am sure thats the reason AVN changes the show dates to March next year .. My 2006 Vegas experience was Wondeful !

And you Lori,... always a pleasure hanging out with you !!!

We did have a good response at out booth especially with the new Feeds coming up but i have to say AVN made a big mistake having Internext at the same time as AEE and CES....if thats the case next year, we will not attend...i hate BIG shows...Phoenix will probably be much better. We have much bigger and effective business at smaller shows...

Business wise the shows were both great for us. We tied up a US DVD deal and some bought some licenses to sell DVDs on the Internet. All this at the AEE. Only there for the trade day, I've been there when the general public get in and it's a zoo I try to avoid.

In the Internext show we got a few good deals and some ideas that should make us more money in the future.

Internext was interesting and I think the organisers need to face the reality of this industry today.

In terms of numbers of people very few can afford to visit the show these days. $300 for a flight, $300 a night for a hotel, $300 to get in and on top of that there's the food and other expenses. A meal for two in the Venetian is $100. How many affiliates can afford all that?

The guys who can now know each other and can do business without the distraction of Vegas, so they come to party.

If we had paid for a stand we would of been pissed off at the number of people walking around the Internext show. Now they want to do the 2007 one in the Mandalay Bay and in March, will that clash with Phoenix or Amsterdam?

As I said I think they need to rethink their plans.

Did anyone see that russian star guy? Holy shit. I think that guy sat there all alone the first two days and on the 3rd day just split. Internext was dead as a fuckin doornail this year. There was like 3 booth members for every one webmaster on the floor this year.

However, I still managed to do a lot of business this year. More than I have in the past. The Nats guy was funny and a tad creepy up at the circle bar on the night before internext. But I'm glad I met them. They really opened my eyes to their program.

No one had the balls to fuck with Ibill. that was a bit dissapointing. Some gay sponsor had a bunch of hacky sacks and they were so bored they were tosssing them to the bored chicks running a billing booth about 30 feet away. (30 to 33 feet it was hard to tell without a tape measure)

It was really nice to meet Halcyon and Tassy. I've been wanting to meet them for a really long time. (I don't know why) I guess, I could always just send an email or whatever. They are like show celebs. I hooked up with SetTheWorldOnFire. It was nice seeing him again. No one (except me) is funnier than he is. I met AfterShockMedia for the first time as well. Nice to see him.

There was one girl that posts here often that wasn't the least bit friendly or interested in anything I had to say. sweet. I always thought I had angered more people that just her. Oh well, I guess. Not everyone will be interested in saying hello.

Internext was dead but AVN was crowded as hell. So much in fact that I spent more time there and did more business there.

All in all it was a very great experience. I met and did a lot of business with new people. Mission accomplished. But as far as internext itself.. it was kind of a dud. I feel like I could have done just as much business by just going to a webmaster access show.

Same here running between both all weekend long but did alot of business doing that. Did 90% of my business at either the AEE or at the parties.

I think AVN should merger the 2 shows togther at some point, would give all programs a huge boost of eyes on their stuff.

Absolutely most business is done at the parties anyway. Its just I feel bad for the people that put the money out for the booths. Other than that it was great to see everyone

I got some great deals done for NakedSword but at the suite parties or Circle bar not on the floor.... Also I couldn't find my room one night cause it was so confusing and the staff at the circle bar was so slow... So other then that and a lost voice and lack of sleep it was a good show and I love seeing people!
