ISPrime, Webair, Ch00pa, Voxel, JupiterHosting or NatNet?

ISPrime, Webair, Ch00pa, Voxel, JupiterHosting or NatNet?

Ok guys, I am in need of a co-location provider for 5+ racks and a ton of bandwidth? I really need some very honest opinions here because I?m looking at investing a lot of money into new servers and network gear and I need the perfect home for this stuff.

I listed the following companies in the subject line because I have done a ton of research and these hosts keep coming up at fan favorites and with fantastic reviews: ISPrime, Webair, Ch00pa, Voxel, JupiterHosting and NatNet. I target many types of clients ranging from private game server clients to managed small business hosting clients. Because of this reliability is key...

My requirements are as follows:

1. 99.99 ? 100% network uptime SLA with evidence of achieving such great percentages.
2. In addition to having an SLA they need to have a solid refund policy for not meeting the guaranteed network uptime.
3. A redundant network with multiple teir-1 backbone providers in a BGP mix.
4. Low latency network! I host a lot of game servers and this is an absolute MUST.
5. 100% power uptime SLA, again with an adequate refund policy for not meeting the guarantee.
6. 24/7 ONSITE support with free basic remote hands services such as server reboots.
7. FAST and intelligent support with a 24/7 real toll-free support line in addition to online support.
8. Additional managed services available and provided by the datacenter?s onsite staff. (Services such as managing our switches, hardware firewalls, etc.)
9. INTEGRITY! I am looking at sending around 150 servers to this datacenter and I might not even live within the datacenter?s vicinity? I need to know they?re going to take good care of my equipment and also that they wont walk away with it overnight.

#9 on my list may have rendered a couple of the companies listed in the subject-line obsolete eh? For example, I have read some great things about hahahahahaha and I know their network is lighting fast? but are they/were they really involved in IP hijacking scandals? I can?t trust a host like that?

What about webair? They seem to host a whole wealth of KNOWN spammers? wouldn?t that put me at an extremely high risk to have the FBI walk into the datacenter and seize all of webair?s servers (including mine)? I mean? I know webair has terrific pricing (and a HUGE fan base) and all but can that really justify the risk? Not for me? but then again I could be wrong about the whole spammer thing. Maybe spamhaus.org isn?t all that accurate?

And in terms of numbers 3 and 4 on my list, which of the above networks provide the most robust array of teir-1 backbone providers, superior uptime and low latency?

What about support? Who provides the best support - not only the quickest response times but the most accurate and helpful solutions?

Alright, you get the point? so who should I host with? And why should I host with them? Please share your experiences with the listed web hosts! THANK YOU!

From the list I would have to say Net Net. First class company all the way and beyond fanstastic support.

Personally I think you should look closely at which companies are hosted at the above host. Mainstream and Adult. For example

ISprime, the ultimate hosting company, today announced that it has signed a hosting agreement with Casio, Inc, one of the world's largest and best known digital technology manufacturers. ISprime provides Casio with a fully managed hosting solution built upon Dell PowerEdge Servers complete with firewalls and load balancers.

Everyone has their favorites but you are making a serious committment, choose wisely.

I've used most of these companies in the past and a few excellent companies that are not mentioned above. I'm running 20 pay sites, all the occash members? areas, all my free hosted galleries, and free hosted webmasters with Jupiter Hosting because of one reason. They take care of business and do exactly what is needed to better our business.

Good luck making your decision and if you need any info please feel free to hit me up anytime.

Jupiter and Natnet are the 2 winners in that pack and they are the people that get my business. Our experience with ISprime was not so good.

Phatservers is a very good host as well. Sly is a good guy.

Isprime and NationalNet really belong in their own list. You can't compare the likes of Isprime and Natnet with those others ... they are for mission critical stuff.

The others are discount hosts of varying degrees.

For what you are describing I think you should really skip straight to one of those two. They are proven, and while they are more expensive you definitely are getting what you pay for.

awesome post and 100% true....natnet and isprime are the top of the pack for sure

I have down home ties to natnet, so they always get my recommendation when someone asks..but they do host some of the largest sites in the world (literally), so that shouldl say something right there

Hit me up if you want unbiased independent advice that fits best to your needs.
There are a lot more variables in play than just picking a company to host your
servers.....if you have 150 servers I'm sure you are aware of this.

Lots of the hosts spammed here or listed by you have no chance of
meeting your requirements.
Your best choice with be natnet if you really wanna go this route
altho expect to shell out a huge chunk of cash.

If I were you, I'd look for an onsite employee that knows its stuff
around hardware and colocate in Equinix.
And then take a team to manage the network offsite with the help
of the onsite employee.
Your total cost will be less than going the other routes.
And you'll have total control over your network and be able
to switch the team whenever you feel like.

Imagine you chose one of the above hosts, and after
a year or so you get a problem with them and you wanna move.
Its gonna be a pain to move that many servers.

There are so many good DC's in the NY/NJ area why dont you just get your own colo space and have a good management company manage your equiptment. If you want to go this route hit me up i have worked in almost all the DC's in the Area. We have multiple cages in Equinix and love their model and their DC's, cant beat the carrier neutral model. Lots and lots of providers to choice from.

Well I have started looking into them only because they have such great access to fantastic bandwidth providers. Truthfully though I?m really looking to get put my services with someone on the East Coast that way I?m still relatively close to them at all times. If I can put them in NYC/NJ that?s great? but I listed others like JupiterHosting because of their superb reputations. As long as the company has impeccable remote hands services, then being near the servers isn?t as important. I may look further into OC3Networks, thank you for the recommendation.

Jupiter and Natnet are the 2 winners in that pack and they are the people that get my business. Our experience with ISprime was not so good.
What went wrong with ISPrime? I?ve only read good things about them on this forum and other hosting-related forums. Any negative input you have would be appreciated!

I?ve looked into NAC before (and had servers with them) and to be honest, their network seems to be really geared for the East Coast and doesn?t provide great speeds elsewhere. I also do not like a lot of the hardware they use. I used to lease servers from them and had memory fail, hard drives crash, etc. on a weekly basis. I had so many problems with cheap/poor hardware that I left :/.

Reflected.net is no longer owned by Jeff right? I think ServerCentral bought them up. ServerCentral is really solid and I have considered them before. However when I had spoken with ServerCentral in the past they weren?t really willing to offer me the level of service I was looking for with regard to remote hands and extra managed services. But maybe I?ll shoot them another sales email/call.

Well I currently have a 24/7 support team for my customers but they literally live all over the world. I?m still not big enough to relocate all of them and open a central office? so I have to keep them all working remotely. Because of that I can?t afford to hire an additional 24/7 on-site team. Having 1 or 2 employees in the area with access to the datacenter is great, but I still need my servers monitored and supported 24/7 by remote hands services provided by my host. If I were to go with Equinix, first of all I?d need to get my own routers which is out of the question right now. I don?t have ~15 ? 50k to shell out on 2x Juniper routers. And secondly I?d need to buy all my own transit on lower level commitments which is more expensive than just going with one of the above hosts that already have multiple Gbps commits with hosts and can get me better pricing. I do thank you kindly though for your very honest opinion!

Well basically just because of what I said above ? I can support the infrastructure costs at this point. I?m still small enough that going with a managed colocation provider makes sense .

Yeh? take a look on Spamhaus.org, Webair hosts more spammers than any of the other hosts I listed. Also, Webair hosts way more known ?ROKSO? spammers. So yes? I?m serious about that. But again, I?ve also read such good things about webair that I was thinking someone might be able to show me I was wrong.

So you?re saying that ISPrime hosts world-classes businesses in addition to *focusing* on mainstream adult web hosting?

Well I have started looking into them only because they have such great access to fantastic bandwidth providers. Truthfully though I?m really looking to get put my services with someone on the East Coast that way I?m still relatively close to them at all times. If I can put them in NYC/NJ that?s great? but I listed others like JupiterHosting because of their superb reputations. As long as the company has impeccable remote hands services, then being near the servers isn?t as important. I may look further into OC3Networks, thank you for the recommendation.

Thank you very much!

Well I am definitely looking for ?mission critical? colocation services ? thank you for your review.

There sure are!

Fiber, feel free to contact Henry at isprime and ask him who they host. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with whom he tells you are their clients. Casio.com is not another run of the mill company as you well know. ISPrime just got done in december with their own DC if that matters to you as well. NatNet and ISPrime are the only ones I would consider period, and I would opt for ISPrime, just due to being with Denis and crew for what seems like forever. The level of support is fabulous, never a minute goes by I cant call a toll free number, send an email or grab a tech on ICQ. Just my

I've got my members areas with Jupiter. They have been awesome. One month I even had a security leak ... my own fault ... and Jupiter didn't charge me for the overage that got used. Poppy RULES and their service is top notch.

Also love PhatServers.com. Run all my TGP and free sites through them.

I have been looking for a new home for my pay sites. I want the fastest network thats always up. All I hear is Nat Net or ISPrime are the best for this. They are more money then the rest, but I hear its worth it.

Does anyone know if Nat Net or ISPrime are running any specials on dedicated boxes?

I love the guys at ISPrime, and Webair is great. But I voted for Jupiter. Interestingly enough, KC, who's now part of Jupiter, was the guy who introduced me to ISPrime years ago (when he was Paycounter and some paysites) and has never had anything negative to say about them.

#9 on your list, was the reason that I voted for Jupiter. I'd say all services are equal for alot of the hosts on your list. But when it comes to integrity, I don't think there's a man (or mouse) in this industry that has more integrity than Ray.

hosting is a personal choice.. of what is important to you... i'd contact all of them.. get to know them.. then make a choice...
I personally recommend:
Nat Net
Jupiter
Webair..
b/c we do/or have done biz with them... all top notch companies with good products... no hosting company will be perfect... nor will any have zero downtime or issues.. but its the effort put forth to prevent and correct any issues that make the biggest difference...

if you can't fork 50k forget about hosting 150 servers
with a top notch provider.

ISPrime...with the exception of NatNet, why is this even a discussion? it's like comparing the MLB and double A baseball (or the NHL and qmjhl for you canadians)

On ISPrime?s homepage they?re running some ?half-off? specials on dedicated servers. You should check it out .

Why Voxel? I know Voxel isn?t very popular on GFY yet but I know they?re actually extremely popular amongst many hosting communities. I know they operate an EXCELLENT network that is even a mirror for such reputable sites as SourceForge ? but I don?t know if their level of service (remote hands, support, etc.) could compare to ISPrime, NatNet, etc.

I can?t afford to fork over 50k *extra* on top of what I?m already paying for premium cisco switches and juniper firewalls + additional servers for routers. I can cover my current costs of managing my support staff, servers and customers, as well as hosting for them? but I can?t buy new routers .

Heh, I love sports and I love your comparison ? but I don?t know if it?s a legitimate comparison. Obviously the leaders here in this poll are ISPrime, NatNet and Jupiter but the other hosts still have some votes too. I?m trying to learn what makes ISPrime (for example) THAT MUCH more superior than Webair for example.
