What is faster for notebook: AMD or INTEL M?
I am looking for a new notebook for a friend.
I'm in doubt for him between Fujitsu Siemens and Dell. With his budget, we can choose the FJ with Mobile AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Dell with Intel® Pentium® M Processor 735A All others specs in the FS are much much better. Based on performance, what would you pick? (batterylife is not that important for him)

I would always go with the AMD64 over any Intel chip. Just my preference though.

the AMD64 will be faster... pentium M will have a better battery life. Depends what he's looking for really.

i have a Fujitsu Siemens with that processor - and this laptop is really fuckin' great, especially for the price. bluetooth would be the only thing missing, but i don't need it. and one more advantage: it's relatively quiet and even has a switch to shut down the fan completely if needed.

I have hp with AMD Sempron 3300+ 64 ... And it is only a little bit faster than my Athlon 1800+ on my desktop... I don't know, but I prefer Intel over AMD...can't complain though, with this one, but it looks slow :P

I have 2 laptops, a P-4 M and a AMD 64bit. On a lot of programs the AMD is slower and it always heats up much much hotter.
Sometimes it's faster but by and large it's not. For a laptop I would stick to the Intel for now... at least until operating systems are optimized for 64 bit programs.
