x & y = relative vs absolute

I need some help with x & y postitioning with a javascript... My head's ready to explode.

no matter what changes I make, not one will position it exactly where I want it to be...

If anyone here's great with javascript events w x & y positioning, please, I need some help with this.

What are you trying to position? Have you tried doing it in CSS:

position: relative;
width: auto;
min-width: 120px;
margin: 0px 210px 20px 210px;
border: 1px solid #000;
color: #222;
background: #eee;
padding: 10px;
z-index: 3;
}

I don't want to get into explaining it here because I don't want to post the url, but if you could offer some assistance, it would be appreciated. I know it can be done with .css, but that's not an option for this project. Again, it's in a wordpress blog, and like always, we all know how tricky things are with wp.
