Congratulations...and, you're right. Slow and steady keeps it off....

Mad respect for those of us who actually do it.

When the weather is warmer we run outside in the park and that kicks my ass even more.

Last time I checked I had gained a little weight but I can see that it is muscle. Everyone keeps saying it looks like I am getting skinnier.

I weigh about 245 at 6'1 and I'd like to get down to 200 this year. Hopefully I will see some more results before summer rolls around.
Same here on the "you look skinnier" part. I lost about 30 pounds over the holidays on the "depression diet" (girl left me, etc). Started working out heavy in the middle of December. Now I've gained it all back but it's all muscle. Can't figure out why I look skinnier to people. lol. Fuck it cuz when the shirt comes off there's no question where the weight is.

yep it doesn't take long to see results. the diet is the main controlling factor. you can still eat a fair amount of food as long as you are watching what you put into your body and at what times.

eating stategically where you put the food to work during your workout and burning it off is what you want to strive to do, then after you workout when your muscles and body needs replacement energies, you wanna go with low carb high protein and natural sugar foods. being disciplined to eat at the right times and the right things is harder for me than being disciplined to go and workout and stuff.

with as much drinking as i do, my brain knows that the way to not feel like shit is to go for a run, stretch, and sweat and the body will feel better. the eating part however for me is much harder to stay on because of my busy lifestyle and work schedule. after your workout instead of giving your body the foods that the brain is programmed to want, give it healthy natural sugars. sliced apples, fruits in quantity. vegetables. these too will also help to detoxify your body and rid you of alot of the toxins and such that are telling your brain that they want those unhealthy foods.

if you want some advice from someone who grew up with diet and always having to watch what i ate and what the body does with it (wrestling for 9 years, elementary to h.s.), icq me and i can give ya help if you want.

Nice diet... must rank up there with the mono diet. Unfortunately when I'm depressed I get lazier and eat more.

Good job regardless... hope the ex has seen you ;)

In college I joined the Y ... It was great, very cheap ($11/month-student rate), had some great programs (yoga, aqua, etc), swimming pool, raquetball courts, bball courts, it was nice.

it's about $35/a month here - private gyms are about 50-60 - and the Y is a BETTER facility - MUCH BETTER
