Issue with Chio's "payment gateway"

I have no beef with Chio, I just found issue with his upcoming "payment gateway". Here is what I found.

On December 9 2005 Chio made a thread, http://www.gfy.com/fucking-around-and-business-discussion/549978-yargh-business-remake-paypal-epassporte.html, which he states "My paypal system after a year of solid coding/designing/planning/investing should be complete within the next month."

It still hasnt been released so I decided to find out what it was. With a simple search of "chio the pirate" on google I found BlingBlog, http://www.bligblog.com/2005/03/28/9/chio-the-pirate/, and on the index, http://www.bligblog.com/, there is the text link "Bliggle! An excellent alternative to paypal". When you click it to go to Bliggle, http://www.bliggle.com.

The payment site Bliggle, http://bliggle.com/, which is registered to the address:
Bliggle.com Inc.
840 SW 28th Terrace, Ste 1752
Cape Coral, FL
33914

US

Has the same address as Chio's site Sharky Farts, http://www.sharkyfarts.com:
Deck Swabbers Inc.
820 SW 28th Terrace Suite 1752
Cape Coral, FL 33914
US

So I assume that is Chio's payment gateway.

By adding "/images" to bliggle.com you get a listing of its images -> http://www.bliggle.com/images/ which results in images like:
http://www.bliggle.com/images/selling_tools.gif - contains the word "cuPaid", which is a term used in cuSell, http://www.cusell.com/cusell/?x=help...a95c 8f69643e
http://www.bliggle.com/images/start_img.gif - which is the same image, except in orange, found at http://www.cusell.com/members/?x=start&
http://www.bliggle.com/images/fam.gif - which is the same image at http://www.cusell.com/cusell/?x=home

I can go on with the images...

So it seems that Bliggle, Chio's Payment Gateway, is actually using cuSell, http://www.cusell.com/order.html, software you buy starting at $150.

The issue I have is security, the security that must be had when you ask for someone's private information like credit card information, and frankly I doubt that a $150 piece of software can offer the security people receive from epassporte and paypal.

If there are issues with my post then I ask Chio to clarify.

Perhaps that's what he's been working on all that time, the security of it?

and FYI, a LOT of really huge services we use today were based on a small script that someone used to start with

so, once again, if it isn't even a live site or a active payment solution, how can you even comment on it?

Lets just assume that that stuff is the leftovers from some old project Chio was doing. I can't say that I know Chio, but the stuff he has released to date has been very nice.. and as Jace said, he hasn't released his system yet, so lets wait with the "issues"

I would just like to know what Chio meant by "solid coding/designing/planning/investing" when all it seems like is that he bought cuSell.

I would rather be safe than sorry when it comes to giving someone my credit card/banking information.

You make no fucking sense. Online security isn't exactly rocket science, pretty much everyone in this industry deals with it in some form or another.

What if you waited until he actually releases it? It seems your extremely eager to give your credit/banking information.

It doesn't make a shit what YOU do. I know you are in adult but you do realize that pretty much every other business in the fucking world that works online has their own merchant account right?

bro.. anything chio releases is quality..

for all we know, he just bought that script to see how it works, and see what areas it needs improving.. to get ideas for his own script..

i know if i was going to be launching a service like that, i'd research all the other competing products too...

just my 2 cents.

I am sure given your powers of deduction that you know it takes more than simple software to build an alternative to paypal.

For instance Money transmitter licenses. A lot of legal issues, and red tape need to be taken care of. The software is the easy part.

Cusell was purchased a long time ago as a simple study.

I have my main coder in the UK, coding the payment system from scratch. He's the same person that coded my other large ecommerce sites.

Thanks for looking out, next time ask me though. My door is always open.

What if he is using that script? In the payment industry the script is just a blip on the radar of shit that has to be set up and means nothing in the long run. It's all about the backend of it and a $150 script sold a few hundred times is just as likely to be secure as a hand coded one, in fact more likely. I still don't understand this post. It's like my grandma getting online for the first time. People have been doing business online for a decade, seems they'd be used to it by now.

Edit: What Chio said.

People are unbelievable.

I am glad you clarified, I just want to make sure that those that are influenced by popular one's, like yourself, trust only themselves and not the words of others.

I was defending chio....

all i'm saying is that just because that script is on his server, doesn't mean hes going to be using it

Wasn't arguing with you, just touching up on one of your points. Meaning, who fucking cares what script he uses, the script hardly makes a payment gateway biz.

I would like to thank Chio for clarifying, and I hope to see Bliggle as a secure system that out does the competitors.

But always trust your own intuitions and not the word of others, especially when it comes to your personal information.

Thanks.
