I've learned from the same mistakes in the past, lost "so-called friends" over money not paid back & also found out "friends" secret lives & addiction problems (never rule that out).

You know where he lives. You have enough information to take action. Call the police, ask their advice. People place liens on properties for situations like this, and from what I understand they really aren't that hard to get instituted, but obviously I'm no lawyer or expert. Get your money back.

Police have no authority over civil matters, they'd just tell her to go to small claims court.

Well said, I had the same feeling as I couldn't believe he re appeared after four months and tells everyone to fuck off and its no ones business, but yet he bumps this thread and starts a new one. He doesn't even say he's sorry or anything about paying her back.
