Anyone ever been in the same boat?

Hopefully this won't come across like a Spacedog post. I'm just looking for some advice only......

I'm basically in a bad situation right now, and have been. To sum it up, I'm 23, no job, no car, only 1 friend (who lives a hour away, so we rarely hang out), still live at home, $300 to my name, etc... Yeah, typical lamer.

I know, I know, get a job. I'm trying, but it has to be like within 5 min of home b/c it's such a chore for my mom to drive or something. Funny, b/c I worked for her cleaning service on the graveyard shift for MANY years for next to nothing because she couldn't afford to pay me much (below min. wage, but I didn't mind). Then I quit that b/c I physically couldn't take it anymore, and she had to hire someone else and pay them normal. I think working for her so many years for so little is what put me behind.

Anyway, I have been mostly lurking here for a couple months and reading as much as possible on xxx sites. I did make some galleries awhile back, but got only a 1/100 clickthru rate, and no sales. I wasn't really trying tho, just trying things out.

So, do you guys think someone like me could start out without putting money into it and using free hosts and work my way up a bit?

I was thinking about making a TGP, and me just doing all of the galleries. Then using the galleries I submit to other TGP's to drive traffic to my TGP. I don't know if that would work though. I really don't want to do JUST galleries and submit them around. I don't know if that's enough.

I know enough PHP to do my own scripts, and have messed with Photoshop a lot.

I guess I'm just trying to make enough to fix things a bit. Then move on from there. As quickly as possible. I really don't know what to do now, so I thought I'd try my hand at making some sites or something.

Firstly, there is enough money in this industry to help you get on your feet and set you up for the rest of your life. It doesn't even cost you anything to get started, plus there is no traveling involved.

Secondly, you can make a lot of friends by doing this too. Not just online, but everyday people who want to be close to you because you're the man with the porn.

Lastly and most importantly, it takes a 110% commitment from you. No excuses, no cheating and no back-stabbing. Stay legal and you will be able to reap the rewards pretty soon.

Good Luck

All I'd say is read the thread 12clicks started where he answered 'newbie' questions. Also remember what was just said - you gotta put a LOT of effort in to get good rewards. It also helps hugely if you can live on a smallish income to start as it takes a while to build it up for most people.

An average sidewalk stroller covers 2 miles per hour. A brisk walk can easily double this. A jogger can easily triple it. Riding a bicycle can cover even more. Five minutes within home???

With this attitude you will not succeed at anything.

This business takes 18 hour days for up to a year, or more, to begin to realize income of any worth. When you have no finances to invest.

My two cents.

I agree with everyone else , dedicate this as if it were your new full time job. Reseach as if it was for the biggests final quiz for school that passed or failed you.
Lastly , don't step on anyone on your way up and you'll be fine.

Sure, you can make it if you are willing to put in the work.

If you have zero money, maybe pick a sponsor with a lot of free content, and some good sites, and start working it.

I think Nasty Dollars or Ox Cash would be good ones to start with, though there are millions of other ones that may be just as good.

Work hard and smart and don't sleep and you should be able to pull it off.

If you can program, you should try to do as much automation as possible so that you can get more work out of each day, too.

Good luck.

Whatever you do. Don't steal, backstab, rob, or lie to your fellow webmasters. Always remember that they are the same person you are, two heads are better than one. Do this and you will be a wise, healthy, wealthy webmaster. Nothing worth doing is easy! Rewards are key to motivation. Most importantly,.. BE YOURSELF. Do go around fakeing your identity. Well,...to honest webmasters that is. Talk and walk like you walk to gain your comfort. Welcome to the adult business Matt 26z

Maybe we will do business some time!

Since I still live at home, not much. I wasn't getting much from the cleaning service thing, just what my mother could afford to pay me. That was usually only around $200 a month, and it was always hard to try and save up with that. I don't know how much I'd need. I guess I haven't lived a typical adult life to know......

Work your butt of for a month and you should be able to make more then $200 bucks in a day and then it just grows from there if you keep putting the effort in. Good Luck

Dude, there's 1 rule to sucess in this biz: dont quit

Just hang on the boards (to learn all the stuff) and concentrate on something, then work, work, work - if you don't quit, you'll make money, trust me.

Get some sponsor images, get some free hosting, get some lotion, get some kleenex, close the door, and have at it! If you have the heart and sould of a pornmaster you will make bank! You will only sleep a few hours a day. You will learn new things by visiting every single adult message board and tutorial you can find. You will eventually get a broadband connection. You will then move out, meet friends in your local area, go to strip clubs, get a girlfriend, tell your mom what you do, post about 1000 messages here, buy some content, get virtual hosting, make more money, get dedicated hosting, make some more money, and on and on and on.

Sure you could start your own TGP but if you haven't made money from other things yet, a TGP seems to be a lot of work. You should consider buiding 1000 AVS (adult verification service) sites. Set a goal for yourself. Build 1 a day, then 2 a day, then 5 a day! Learn about search engines, link lists, meta tags, etc.

Get ready! This is only the beginning!

TOM
this is one of the best things I have seen done in awhile. VERY similar to the break I caught.........

Matt, I would take Tom up on this, BUT don't be a slacker and just use the space, take the time to help Tom and read, read, read............. research, do as so many of these guys have said......... build a site a day........ find you al ist of places that you can convert with by submitting these sites to them.

When I started, I was like a spnge, I soaked up all I possibly could. While I am not rich by ANY means, I am making more than I ever have in MY life by simply taking a deal like Tom is offering you and working my ass off........... the giving me the hosting space and allowing me to pick this person's brain, I am where I am today. And I USE everything she taught me in everything I do...... the lessons she taught me and the things I picked up from that opportunity have put me in a very good place........... just do NOT ever rip Tom off and use his knowledge to help you and help him out in return, because what he and these other guys are offering you does not come along everyday...........

Bottom line is that you better be prepaired to offer this some commitments, it is going to take it. When I walked into all of this, I never dreamed of the commitments it was going to take....... just the self discipline alone was tremendous and working from home, this is a job requirement. Bottom line, always be true to yourself and to others that are trying to help you. STAY HONEST!!!!!

LOL

Some people stay home with their parent(s) for several reasons & health is usually number one. I know because my mother has been in declining health for the past few years. I'm around to take her to the doctor & to do the mowing, snow shoveling & other chores (and yes, I help pay bills). Matt sounds like he's more or less in the same boat.

My advice to you, Matt, is to keep learning html, java, webpage design, etc. Make some galleries & submit those while building a tgp. Stay honest in everything you do & make connections with other webmasters. You may get lucky sooner than you think but the key is to never give up.

Because I could come and go as I please, so long as told them I would not be home to eat. I had my own room where I was allowed to entertain my friends.

Could sleep with girls in my room, use my Mum or Dads car, drink and smoke in my room. Usually had the run of the house at weekends, when Mum & Dad went away. Fridge was always full of food & drink. Paid very little money for it.

What not allowed to;
Do drugs, or have sex while Mum & Dad were downstairs watching TV.

Left home at 25 to get married. Total shock to the system, the real world sucked.
