The Hun, PersianKitty, Ampland, Sublime, Trademarks & Yahoo B.S..

I was looking through the Yahoo directory tonight and I found a bunch of sites that are using the trademarks of major adult sites in their names and URLS.

Why the fuck would Yahoo list these sites?

Tommys Free Ampland al4a Sublime Worldsex Bookmark Directory
http://www.tommys-free-ampland-al4a-...directory.com/

Amp Land The Hun Sublime Directory - offers links to sex and porn pictures featuring hardcore videos.
http://www.ampland-tommys-bookmarks-...-worldsex.com/

Free Porn videos amp land the hun world sex persiankitty lin
http://www.sublime-directory-thehun-...-worldsex.com/

Internet Eraser or Evidence Eliminator - offers a side-by-side comparison of Internet Eraser and Evidence Eliminator.
http://www.internet-evidence-eraser-...-worldsex.com/

I know that many of these sites have trademarks on their names. Beyond that, anyone that would submit a site with a domain name or title like one of these, is a fucking scammer and they're going to change the site once Yahoo lists it anyways. Why would Yahoo even consider adding these sites?

If any of your trademark owners are reading this, we had our lawyer contact Yahoo once about a trademark violation in one of their listings and they did remove it, though it cost us a few hundred bucks to have the lawyer go back and forth with them.

I just think it's incredibly stupid that Yahoo would accept any of these rip off sites.

I felt guilty leaving Tommy's Bookmarks out of the subject, but I didn't want it to scroll off the page at 1280x1024.

1. yahoo should not automatically filter it's listings because of supposed or actual resemblences to whatever, they should be a search engine, not a copyright task force.
2. did you feel you got your moneys worth out of the lawyers?

1. Yahoo filters out spam & other sites they don't want to list, these sites are spam. I know many people who have had sites rejected by Yahoo for various reasons. I think a listing that is obviously spamming keywords deserves to get rejected. If they can reject you for random things, certainly one of those random things can be keyword spamming.

2. I always get my moneys worth out of my lawyer. However, the fact that I have to pay him to deal with a problem that someone else created is what annoys me. The person who submitted the sites should have to pay my lawyer fees, because they're the ones who are creating the problem. Yahoo was fine about dealing with the trademark issue when it was brought to their attention, to their credit.

OK, for $600 a pop, do you think they really care what adult sites they list so long as the check clears??
