i read this wacky book that proclaimed humans would one day make the leap where they wouldn't need computers anymore. we would figure out that we were physiologically computers already.

books like Out Of Control (somewhat dated), and (especially) The Long Now discuss the topic in more detail.

I always knew what "converge" meant, but the word convergence just looked foreign.
