Anyone else been getting less miles per gallon/km per liter?

I've been finding lately that my gas tank just isn't getting me as far as it used to not so long ago.

I mentioned it to a few others and they said they've noticed the same.

I know gas prices are higher and that my wallet may just be casting that illusion, but seriously, I have to fill up more often lately.

I put on my tin foil hat and started to wonder if maybe they've started adding a little something to make the fuel burn faster. Seems a tad far fetched, but the more I hear from people who say their mileage is getting lower too... the more I start to really wonder.

Hm, thats a new one to me. I only drive like 2 miles a week, so havent put in gas in well over a year.
Check tire pressures, clean air filters etc.. might be time for a tune up.

Not me, I am doubling my mileage now. Traded in my Xterra for an Altima three months ago and was getting 350km/tank and now I am getting 700km/tank.

you guys are right: before on a full tank (forget about the price, let's talk volume here) we used to get about 390 miles. Now, it doesn't go over 340.
WTH?

Now that is *not* surprising. My car is 10 yrs old, and gets 40 MPG highway. To get that mileage out of a gasoline-only engine in a new car I dont think is possible. You have to go hybrid.
Everytime I see a car commercial (a billion times per day) I look for the MPG and they all suck.

Car Makers+Oil Companies=less efficient cars=we're screwed.

My infinity SUV cost more in gas then the hummer costed me a couple months ago ... that's crazy.

I always put MINIMUM 20 bucks a day in gas lately.
