Phoenix Arizona is home to Luke Air Force Base. We saw them flying often, and out in the desert they would go for broke. It was awesome to watch.

my thoughts as well live between vandenburg and camp roberts so they would track the inbound shit from here....came in right off the ocean at only a few thousand feet like cruise misslies.: was odd tho cause they don't fly over here often (they are usually hiding over the ocean in the experemtal shit) but when they do it is for stuff like that...

I heard and saw them too just about 30min or so ago.

Thought they sounded more like F16s though. I could be wrong I didn't look that close.

Yeh, I was stationed at Homestead AFB, FL quite a few years ago, we had some permanently assigned reservist F-16 units that flew there.

I looked out my window today when they passed over. I only caught a glimpse but they did look small enough to be f-16s and sure sounded like it...but like I said, I could be wrong.

I'm not sure what commitments Vandenburg has other than spacecom stuff, could have been a few birds going home to a base up north somewhere.

Was cool to see & hear for sure...I actually miss living around an AFB on occasion.
