Presbyterian Church publishes 9/11 conspiracy theory

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)'s publishing arm has released a book that says President Bush organized New York's Sept. 11 attacks.

The decision by the 160-year-old Westminster John Knox Press, the trade and academic publishing imprint of the Presbyterian Publishing Corp., to attribute the attacks on the World Trade Center brings into the U.S. religious mainstream a conspiracy theory long held by the world's jihadists.

In 'Christian Faith and the Truth behind 9/11: A Call to Reflection and Action,' author David Ray Griffin calls the United States the world's 'chief embodiment of demonic power, says he initially scoffed at 9/11 conspiracy theories.

But after investigating he concluded that the Twin Towers were brought down by controlled demolition, military personnel were given stand-down orders not to intercept hijacked flights and the 9/11 Commission, ostensibly created to uncover the truth behind the events of 9/11, 'simply ignored evidence' that the administration was involved in the attacks.

Griffin further asserts that such events such as that of 9/11 are part of a long history of 'false-flag attacks,' attacks orchestrated by governments against their own people to garner popular support for military action.

Griffin is a professor at California's Claremont School of Theology and Claremont Graduate University, and a codirector of the Center for Process Studies.

I'm personally glad these doubts and questions are being aired. Not that I go in for holographic planes and all that shit... but the government's version is so much MORE full of shit that the sci-fi concepts seem conservative in comparison...

And HAHA insane that a frigging wingnut christian fringe with a printing press would get in on it... serves the government right to come up with such unadulterated hogwash as the 9/11 commission report and pensylvania/washington DC "vaporized" plane theories.

I'm not clear what the "government's version" is? Do you mean the version that everyone saw on TV of planes hitting the WTC, etc.? Not disagreeing, yet, just asking.

Besides that, for once, I would like someone who believes this is was a giant conspiracy to lay out the events of how this all occurred. That is, not just say the planes were drones, explosives brought the building down, etc. etc. but actually lay out how this *could* have been put together. The timeline, those who had to be involved, etc.

And not, like Loose Change, say "well there was a demolition team in the area". Tell us how they planted the explosives, who would/could have ordered it, how they got the explosives in the building without being detected. Spell it ALL out.

Then match up that version with the "government's" and lets see what is more plausible.

How can anyone deny what we saw live on tv and in multi-rebroadcast video? Of course planes hit the WTC. The other two I'm not so sure about - its ridiculous to say that so few body parts could be found at the pentagon and in that field that dna had to be used for ID purposes, and that most of the plane was destroyed...

The government's version is that the two planes that hit the pentagon and crashed in PA desintegrated, not leaving much for them to pick up in terms of bodies and wreckage. That's insanely difficult to believe. I know Bush likes to gag the press from covering the gorier details of things like war, katrina-type disasters, etc all for "public morale" but they've actually said that there's no body parts, and the first pics from pensylvania showed a hole. Nothing else, no plane or body parts...

The government's version is that the WTC buildings, against all odds, collapsed straight down (regardless of the reason) not ONCE not TWICE but all THREE buildings did a perfect free-fall down onto their own foundations, not tipping or crashing over as they should have (in all statistical probability) if they weren't controlled demolitions. And anyone looking at that vid of the towers going down over and over can't NOT see they were blown from the bottom up, allowing for total destruction with minimal casualties.

It's almost smart to build towers like that with the explosives for eventual demolition built in... unless its a huge conspiracy though, its as if they don't want to admit the explosives were already in there. But it would take weeks or a set up like that, so its one or the other - there's more than we were told.

Just denying the demolition wasn't controlled when the whole world saw the thing occur to me seems like they are in some sort of "official denial" mode to their detriment.

And to say the metal in the building was melted by volatile airline fuel I know for a fact to be silly - that's exactly what UL and building standards across the board ensure won't happen in any Towering Inferno scenario. But let's say it was, metal doesn't melt all at once in one shot - heat radiates and melting temperatures would not be reached evenly at all points in the "fire" - so the buildings couldn't have gone down straight and flat...

I don't have theory per se - but I don't buy the government's. I know we saw the planes crash, the buildings go down. Period. What we didn't see, and what we were told about what we didn't see, just makes no sense. I just shrug and say who cares? I didn't have family there, they're the ones who should give a shit. The government certainly has contempt for EVERYONE affected so we can't expect anything from them anymore.

I've heard good things about loose change, that movie - certainly that it was less hyperbolic than Farenheit, so maybe I should see it and the others about it.

It's just that seeing sites like the ones that say it was a holographic plane that hit the WTC and so on turns me off of the alternative/conspiracy theories too (which no one seems to bundle the Bush Administration version into ironically, despite the fact they say its bull).

Another thing is who did it - why the HELL would Bin Laden deny blowing up the WTC when/if he was so intent on it and proudly claims to have done the embassies and that battleship and all that? Makes no sense. I don't think he ever accepted blame either... what the fuck? If it was me, I'd be "Yeah man, I did that, I tore 'em down like I wanted to." Why does Bin Laden deny? Too weird...

A lot of theories have been bandied about but despite that, this event in US history has always warranted a formal independent investigation. Especially in light of controlled demolition allegations and immediate evidence removal and destruction at the crime scene. Even The New York Times was unable to find out who was behind the disposal of evidence.

Even if it was a false flag operation, come on, trying to say Bush was personally involved is just plain stupid and baseless. First of all, he's not powerful enough to pull off something like this. Second, he's not smart enough. That's like saying LBJ killed Kennedy.

If anything, Bush MAYBE knows that it was powers inside the US that were responsible, but I doubt even that. Bush just does what he's told. He probably actually thinks Bin Laden did it.
