Sheesh

DS has been in "adult" for decades - same with the Gold brothers. I sold an adult biz to the Golds years back and they have stayed at the helm and kept it stable for years and earned millions out of it.

DS and I started at the same time in "adult" - tho these were the days when public hair was a sensation David stuck his head out from the trenches on a few occasions and pushed the boat out and ended up publishing around 50 monthly mags and then into publishing that crappy "newspaper" where he earned even more millions.

This thread has turned out to be without a doubt thee most informative and impressive thread I have ever participated in my (nearly 4 year) stay on this board I always followed your posts with great interest due to the quality of your posts but I had no idea you had such experience and connections in the biz, I never really knew what you did but I figured it had to be something very impressive due to the vast amount of knowledge you have about so many topics !

I'd love to hear about your history in the biz, if you don't want to post it here thats cool. Even just an email with a few examples of the things you've ran in the past

Outstanding stuff !

No they wont. Know why.. The US doesn't invade states that have armies and that would fight back.

I always thought people like DS and Beate Uhse were the kinda "secrets" of the adult biz (OK Beate was well known from her Euro retail operation - but not much other than that). Both stuck there heads out to push the "adult biz" ahead over decades.

Just reading the wikipedia.org stuff - it's like an era looking back

Notice they mention Mary (Millington) re DS. She was a nice girl (despite the rep) - always remembered my birthday and Christmas stuff Her life terminated with a suicide - why, we will never know.

It's a small world Everybody seems to end up at the same watering hole at some time or other.

I did much the same as DS to start off - basically mail marketing - we did a few co-deals on stuff and I bulk bought the back covers of all his mags for years for full page colour ads. With other partners we did everything from "dildo manufacturing", film/video processing labs, audiotext biz (phonesex), manufacturing "nothing" lingerie, got a number of "sex shops" running, a party plan operation with about 1800 agents (sold that and it is part of what is known as Ann Summers now) - kinda done more or less everything related to the adult biz

In between I developed all the data processing and control systems to run that stuff - basically programming - so when the net came along it was kinda natural to extend into net trading.

Now it's heavily into real estate - takes less work and automatic annual capital increases - nice to get a rest!!!

I've never claimed that Australia is, or needs to be, a world power, I am quite happy with what we are. I just find it hilarious how important the British think they are, and how some people in this thread seriously think militarily they could even go anywhere near the USA. Yes GB is a great place in the world, most of Europe is actually, when you see what other people live through, but you guys need to realise you are not a hugely important power to be reckoned with anymore. You may of survived WWI and WWII but you came out of it a shell of what you used to be, only some people seem not to have realised it yet.

Agreed - it's very amusing how a thread with a laughable first post has turned into this very interesting discussion.

Whats scary, is that I make a post, and people cant even see the irony and think its real. Just goes to show how easy people are manipulated
