Any ideas why image uploads would get rejected from my server?

2 programs now have rejected me from uploading images from a web interface

phpadsnew was one and said something about server config

and now this wordpress plugin isn't letting me upload images

is there some server config setting that should be enabled?

The directory where images are stored needs to be writable by the webserver, if you have a managed box ask your admin to set this for you.

ya check permissions set to writeable, which you can even do from ftp. if you are trying to upload big images also. check your php.ini

post_max_size = 20M
upload_max_filesize = 20M

and so on.

well, it is, but I think this is a deeper issue, because it is 2 different software packages

from reading a little I think it has to do with the upload_tmp_dir variable
