Hey, just curious if anyone's got a link to an article on the legalities of adult P2P distribution, etc. Is this even legal anymore with all the 2257 regulations going on? How does one stay legal while attaining traffic via P2P distribution?

I really don't know too much about this (P2P) so any & all info is welcomed.

P2P is consumer based. Meaning that the consumer does not need to have 2257.
You will just need to have the registered holder of the 2257 listed somewhere on titles you distribute via p2p.
Like a DVD you buy from a store.

This is for now anyways.

I am no attorney. But according to the regs now as long as they can find who has such docs you should be in the clear.

Okay, I was thinking (hypothetically, don't know if I'll follow through yet) of popping a console from within the content to one of my free sites which would have 2257 info for any content promoted via P2P. I just didn't know if that would be enough, or if transferring through P2P apps would have any effect on 2257 compliance.

Anyone who's got more info, I'd love to hear it. Thanks for the info Justyn, really appreciate it.

For the last year, Bang Bros videos start off with a 2257 notice, including the address of the custodian of records. Not sure if it would cover your ass for P2P, but it's worth looking in to.

Hmm thanks for the reference KrisKross, really appreciate it. I'll try to look into other sponsors who do the same. Any sponsors who do could speak up in here...might get a new promoter out of the deal.

I would suggest if you are in the US and subject to 2257, sharing files on the p2p networks which pop up to your site..........you probably should have the proper documentation on hand for the content both in your movie and on the website you are popping up.
I'm not a lawyer, but I would suggest being safe is always the best way to go
